25.01.2022 Our club was invited to participate in the Twilight Street markets, and we decided to sell Christmas Cakes. Pictured are Lions Betty & Lesley (Saturday November 21).The club sold 20 large cakes, 19 small cakes, 6 puddings and 20 mini cakes at the market. More funds for the community. We shall return in 2 weeks.

25.01.2022 Attention all Returned Servicemen and Women, as we were unable to hold our club's annual "Diggers Night" in April, we have decided to replace our monthly Dinner meeting with a proposed Diggers Night. It is also "Guy Fawkes Night". Anyone, or if you know of any returned serviceman or woman, please ask them to contact the secretary of the RSL, Redcliffe, to express interest. Please note: At this time, it is still "propped" as we are restricted on numbers, to conform to council Covid 19 regulations. Making a correction here. Could any/all people contact Sharon @RSL sub-branch there at the RSL. She is handling this for us.

24.01.2022 Yesterday, Lions David and Debbie presented Tracey, the Pantry Convener of Gold Coin Champions Food Pantry with $1000 of food. Despite lock-down and the economy, we have managed to find funds to help another essential NPG feed needy members of the Redcliffe Community. Well done Team!

21.01.2022 On the 4th Thursday of October, our club held our monthly Dinner Meeting, with the theme, or feature, being the Lions Annual "Peace Poster". The winning entry (picture 1) Left, and the 2 Runners-Up. (Picture 2) Winner: Ella Frazer (2nd from left); Runner ups: Ema Costello & Ahnaid Flanagan. The Art Judges were: Jocelyn Polley and Vicki Kerkow (Far left & #3) join the girls. Lion John our club organiser) stands in the background. John has done an excellent job over the years with Humpybong School.

19.01.2022 Our third donation to support the work of Encircle Redcliffe was made last Friday afternoon by President Ted and Lion David. Encircle is extremely grateful and have posted the event on their Facebook site.

18.01.2022 At our October dinner meeting we had the judging for the Lions Clubs International Peace Poster for students from Humpybong Primary School. Ella Frazer was judged the winner of our Club level. Ella’s poster then proceeded to the Lions District 201Q3 judging on the weekend of the 8th-9th of November.... The finalists from the Lions District were judged by the District Governor David Orton and the winner was Ella Frazer representing the Lions Club of Redcliffe Central! Ella’s poster will now be judged against others from across Australia at the Lions Multiple District Convention in Canberra in May 2021 subject to Covid-19 protocols. Congratulations Ella! Our best wishes go with you for the next level. (Left) Ella, with one of our judges. (Right) Her entry.

17.01.2022 Attention Redcliffe and nearby areas: Redcliffe Central Lions seeks to provide a Christmas wish to senior residents. Please read the details carefully, and bring it to the attention of people you see have need for such actions.

13.01.2022 Some more lovely photos, "The Ode", and our club's Members. Please note, the ladies in the blue=green shirts are our wonderful Lionesses. They catered beautifully for us. Thank you ladies!

12.01.2022 I am repeating part of our #3 post for relevance. This was a particularity good talk, (forgive the poor quality of the photos!) The guest speaker for the evening was one of our Lions members Commander David Marsden (ex-navy). Lion David gave us a power point presentation which gave all attending an insight into the armed forces of today and covered the three arms of the military.

10.01.2022 Our club knows no boundaries, with one of the club's most upstanding and outstanding was in action last week. Lion Betty is pictured here delivering Teddies to Woody Point Special School. She is featured on a recent post having prepared the teddies (with her own hand). Well done Betty! Setting an excellent example.

08.01.2022 Yesterday, Lions Stuart, Barbara and David purchased$1000 Food Donation for the Redcliffe Breakfast Club. Here they are seen presenting the food to Breakfast Club Volunteer Michelle. What a joy it has been to present such organisations with the food. These efforts by clubs and others are doing enormous good for the community.

07.01.2022 Redcliffe Central Lions Club held their annual Diggers Night on Thursday November the 5th. This year we could not have it at our usual time just prior to Anzac Day, due to the Covid-19 restrictions. So instead we programmed to hold it just prior to "Remembrance Day". The evening was held at the Memorial Hall at Woody Point and it was the 39th year of our Club holding Diggers Night and, although this year due to circumstances beyond our control we only had some 15 Ex Se...rvice Men and Women attend. Our Lioness Club catered for the evening and no one left hungry. The guest speaker for the evening was one of our Lions members Commander David Marsden (ex-navy). Lion David gave us a power point presentation which gave all attending an insight into the armed forces of today and covered the three arms of the military. All attendees both ex-service people and Lions enjoyed the presentation and the fellowship of the evening. Subject to Covid-19 protocols we hope to be able to have our 40th Diggers Night in April 2021 just prior to Anzac Day. Lest We Forget
