25.01.2022 We are very excited that the travel restrictions have been lifted within NSW and you can come and stay again. The diary is already filling up for June as people are so very keen to get back here to the clean country air, great walks, beaches and the lovely towns of Berry and Kangaroo Valley. Come and soak in a spa bath, enjoy the wood burning fire and see some wildlife. Email Sally at [email protected]

16.01.2022 To all our friends and regular guests, we thought we should let you know that we are fully booked all weekends until mid August and every day of the July holidays. So if you’ve missed this view from our road, we suggest you book a few weeks in advance

16.01.2022 Every year, at this time, we have our wombats turn up for a feed at the house. It’s a joy to see ones that we’ve know since they were Joeys. This one has turned up with its mum for the last two years and now it’s on its own and lovely and fat. It copped this scar last year, probably from a fight with another wombat. It’s always a relief when we see them mange free.

15.01.2022 Meet Gem, our red dog guest this weekend.

15.01.2022 A beautiful red dog at Red Dog Retreat this weekend

11.01.2022 We are feeling very hopeful that people will be able to travel for holiday within NSW by June. We are getting so many calls from people desperate to get away to the country, I suggest you make bookings from June onwards soon. We still have one cottage available for the long weekend in June. If Covid 19 restrictions are still in place, we will happily refund your deposit in full. Our lovely wood burning stove, spa bath and the wombats are lined up and waiting for lots of visitors again. 08.01.2022 The ocean seems just that bit closer today.....

06.01.2022 Happy Easter from us at Red Dog Retreat. Don’t forget that winter is the best time to see the wombats out and about. Also the best time to cosy up in front of the log burner.

05.01.2022 Dear friends of Red Dog. Well, it’s been a tough year and we are very sad to say that of course, we have had to close up for as long as is advised by the government. We are pretty surprised to still be receiving booking requests; it seems that people still don’t understand that you can be fined for travelling for the purposes of holidaying. This is because we don’t want people moving from high risk areas to rural Australia where there are very limited resources to deal wi...th a growth in Covid 19 cases. Please respect the government guidelines; as soon as the restrictions are lifted, we will be the first to welcome you back with open arms - our business has suffered terribly this year. Our local towns of Berry and Kangaroo Valley will also be desperately keen to ramp up tourism again. In the mean, time stay safe and well and please be kind to everyone. See you soon!

05.01.2022 Culburra Beach and surrounds. Beautiful South Coast @ Culburra Beach

04.01.2022 Who wouldn’t love Seven Mile Beach in winter? Dog friendly, pristine, beautiful. Just a short drive from Red Dog Retreat. www.reddogretreat.com

04.01.2022 These wombats are some of the ones we were feeding during the drought over the last couple of years. They know my voice and still come by for a feed most nights in winter. It’s good to see them fat and healthy.

04.01.2022 An average evening up at our house at Red Dog Retreat. King Parrots/ Rosellas, lyrebird and wombats - all enjoying a lovely spring evening

03.01.2022 We never get tired of the view from our road. We can see the whole of Jervis Bay on a perfect day like today. Such fresh clean air which is so good when we remember the devastation of the bushfires all around us in 2019/20. Our beautiful mountain and it’s precious rainforest escaped devastation but some of our neighbours in Kangaroo Valley did not and we will never forget that one terrible night. How things have changed with all the rain and our perfect part of paradise is back to its old lush green self and the cows are happy again.

03.01.2022 Our new signage.
