25.01.2022 Bayswater is set to get a micro-distillery. Alligator Laboratories has received council approval for their premises at Clavering Road in Bayswater but there are still a few steps to go before they are up and running. Follow their journey on their socials. Build a Beau-Fort is at Mt Lawley this Saturday and Sunday the 19th & 20th of June. Kids will be able to play at their leisure and construct their own towns and buildings using cardboard boxes or participate in craft worksho...ps. Attendance is free but registration is essential. See their FB event page. This Sunday in Maylands there's the Roxy Lane Markets to check out from 8am followed by the ClayMake Studio Winter Markets at 10am. Instead of mooching at home, why not make a morning of it wandering around the hood. It's back! The Beaufort Street Network Progressive Quiz Night is on this Thursday the 24th. The evening starts at Mack Daddy's New York Slice at 7pm moving on to Clarences Company Store for the second half of the night. Entry is free, registration is essential. Ticket link on their FB event page. Keep your eye on Mia Cafe on Beaufort Street for its transformation into Flora on Tenth. And in more news for Inglewood, the suburb looks set to get a gelateria in Spring. Pietro Gelateria is apparently opening in the 'hood and advertising for staff now. If you know someone that may be keen, send them to their FB page. Word on the street is that the Stirling/Bulwer Street Woolies may be opening next week. Exciting news for those living in the vicinity who will no longer need to travel to North Perth, Maylands or Inglewood for their weekly food shop! Did you know that there's such a thing as a tool library? Tools n Things Library, Perth WA is exactly that - a library where you can borrow tools and household equipment. This not-for-profit organisation is based in Leederville and is currently offering trial 3 month memberships for only $30 for a limited time. Check them out on FB. PS - please don't tell my husband. 22.01.2022 Highgate Primary School P&C is hosting a Marketplace on Sunday the 27th of June selling pre-loved everything from 10am to 1pm plus a big bake sale. The event is a major fundraising activity for the school and everyone is invited to attend. The Vinyl Cafe End Of Fashion - Pre-Loved Clothing Market kicks off the first of its planned fortnightly Vintage Fairs in Leederville this Saturday 26 June from 9am. Potential stallholders are invited to contact them about future events to...o. Naab Restaurant Pty is open at 50 Walter Road West, Bedford. Early reports from locals & pics all point to good things! Baysie fave King Somm Wine Bar and Store is under new management. The new team has a strong hospo background and is planning gradual changes, such as an online ordering system, based on community feedback and demand. First up they've added some new Winter cocktails and mulled wine to the drinks list - perfect for the current weather! And they're encouraging people to drop in for just a drink (or two) too. St Patrick's Mt Lawley Annual Christmas in July - Medieval Feast is on again - Friday 30 July from 7:00pm. Enjoy a three course banquet provided by Vince Garreffa at Mondo's with BYO adult drinks for $100 per person. More details and ticket link via their FB event page. Construction is set to commence on the Maylands Waterland Redevelopment in the coming weeks with Stage 1 expected to be open this Summer. More details on the City of Bayswater website. The signs are going up along Beaufort Street, Inglewood for the two-year trial of the variable speed limit. The trial will drop speeds on the strip to 40 km/h between 7:30am and 10 Sunday to Thursday extending until 1am on Friday and Saturday. Expect it to start soon. 4 to 11 July is NAIDOC week and two of our local councils are hosting multiple free events for community members to attend. This year's theme is Heal Country!
