13.01.2022 Peak Bloom Farm Gate days are here! From this weekend, November 14 & 15th, we are anticipating peak numbers of flowers in the fields and available for purchase, and are opening to visitors all over Victoria! To visit the Estate you must register via our website where you will be asked to give your name, number of attendees (excluding children less than 12 months of age) and choose one of three time slots. We can have a maximum of 70 people on the property, for 2hrs at a time,... therefore numbers are limited to 210 people per day. Cut peony stems, potted peony plants (herbaceous, tree and Itoh/intersectionals), preserves from the Estate’s Kitchen & Citrus Garden and original oil paintings and prints by artist/owner Jillian Holmes-Smith will be available. Although there is no fee to visit the Estate and farm gate, a self guided garden tour can be undertaken on the day for an additional fee. No walk ins accepted (unless we haven’t booked out), masks must be worn, card payment preferred for purchases. His passion for surveying and hydrology has been lifelong, and allowed him to work and live throughout Victoria, and in places as exotic as Ethiopia and Rome. 07.01.2022 It is with great regret that we announce our permit to run as a Peony Society within a green wedge zone has not been approved in time to hold our Open Days for the 2019 peony season. Our local Council has worked extremely hard on processing our Permit application in a timely fashion, however, there are some local objections to resolve that are taking extra time. The peonies have grown abundantly this year, so we anticipate that in the 2020 season you will finally be able to pick your own. 01.01.2022 Vale darling Ray, our patriarch, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and most recently, barn-builder. Born January 2, 1928 and raised on the farm in Red Hill, Ray passed on his property, surrounded by family November 22, 2020. Many of you will have met Ray during your visits to the Peony Estate and heard his stories of the farm and the family, of which he was most proud. Due to his illness our open days have been irregular this year, and as the family grieves we are calling an early end to our season. We will reopen from December 20-24 for sales of Christmas lilies and carefully stored Peony posies. 01.01.2022 FLOWER SALES Red Hill Peony Estate is opening for Farm-Gate sales of freshly-picked peony flowers, potted plants and peony produce, this Sunday, November 10th, from 10am-4pm at 237 Arthurs Seat Road, Red Hill. We thank you all for your interest and support for our business this season via the purchase of bunches of peonies and potted peony plants in lieu of our regular Open Days.... We will have a small farm-gate stall set up 700 metres down the track in our carpark for produce sales only. It is free to drive down, however, there will be NO opportunity to walk through the peony paddock or any other of the Estate gardens. You will exit via Pardalote Rise and then right onto Stony Creek Road. (Please drive very slowly, 40 km). Farm-Gate produce will include: -Cut flowers: Coral peonies $6 per stem, light pink and white herbaceous peonies $18 per bunch of 5. - Potted peonies, between $35 - $100, many varieties including some Corals, Tree peonies and the rare and exciting Itoh intersectionals.
