22.01.2022 Our Christmas Social Ride is happening!

21.01.2022 A ring has been found near the carpark at Boundary Rd. The kind that the owner would want back. Send us a private message if it could be yours. Otherwise, spread the word so we can get it returned

19.01.2022 A lot of people might use @trailforks as a useful tool to find trails but did you know you can also log your rides and report trail conditions? This comes in really handy for us as we can use the info for a wide range of trail maintenance purposes as well as helping develop the club and MTB infrastructure. Check it out if you haven’t already.

18.01.2022 Quick jersey update. As I’m sure everyone’s experienced at some stage this year, we’ve had some shipping delays along the line. We’re expecting them to arrive in your chosen store for pick up in three weeks. Apologies for the delay.

18.01.2022 Last reminder that orders close tomorrow. We won’t be holding stock of these so this is your only chance to get on board. Support the club that supports the trails!

17.01.2022 Thanks for all your orders for our new club jerseys. Looking forward to seeing you all in them around the park at some stage. We’ve been getting a few last minute orders, which is all good, but we’ll be closing it completely at midday tomorrow so we can put the order in with Dharco. Thanks again crew and hope everyone’s hanging in there!

14.01.2022 Jerseys are in! Finally For those that have been waiting, thanks so much for your patience. Head in to the store you selected during checkout and grab your fresh kit If you’re able to, grab something from from the store to support them too. Looking forward to seeing them out on the trails

14.01.2022 Member newsletter out now via email. Check your inboxes, spam, junk etc. Look after yourselves!

13.01.2022 Last week to get your orders in for new club jerseys. Orders will close next Monday the 17th. The process is different this time. We won’t be holding stock. So get your orders in! (See below for details)

12.01.2022 We’ve had multiple reports of large groups riding together and a lack of physical distancing over the past week which is pretty disappointing. Just a reminder that the current restrictions allow us to exercise with one other person or members of your household. We’re really lucky that we’ve still got our sport while many others have been shut down. The closure of other activities has brought a lot of eyes on the MTB community and we don’t want complaints about a minority of riders not following the rules to bring about a ban on riding in the park. We’d like to think it is a minority so please spread the word so the message gets out there. It’s a time for us all to make sacrifices for the good of everyone.

12.01.2022 We’ve got a new feature on Fall Line Check out the ramp through the V in the tree towards the bottom next time you’re out. Massive thanks to Rob Davis Archisteel for the construction and Canyon for sponsoring the trail through TAP. Great to see the sponsorship dollars working some magic already Looking forward to seeing our awesome trail crew working in some rock armouring around it soon

12.01.2022 And here’s the biggest announcement you’ll hear today. New club jerseys are ready for pre-order! Hopefully a little pick-me-up after what the Premier had to say today. It’ll be awesome to see crew racing in them as well as out and about on the trails, whenever we can do either of those again. Details: - Order at https://redhillriders.bigcartel.com/... - Orders close Monday August 17th - Available for collection mid October - Pickup locations are Chain Brain, Mornington Cycles, Bicycle Superstore Mornington and Rye Bike Shop (choose one) - All profits go towards new trails! When ordering, you’ll have to put in a postal address. Please enter your home address but note that items will not be sent there. They will go to the bike shop you select, ready for pick up. They’re quality Dharco gravity jerseys. The sizing is the same across their range so you could head to a shop to try them on or follow the order link for size charts. Hope everyone’s finding ways to stay sane during all this. Memorising all of Rob Warner’s commentary’s a good time filler

11.01.2022 Have your say on the Shires MTB and BMX strategy

11.01.2022 A friendly reminder of some guidelines we should be following when out on the trails. Would also like to add that if you need to stop on a trail, don’t do it on blind sections. Allow other users time to see you and stop or get around you. Look out for each other out there

11.01.2022 Super heavy hearted that there won’t be a Gravity Enduro National Champs this year. We were stoked to be hosting it. Looking forward to next year when we can put it on bigger and better Kudos to MTBA for making the tough call. See details below... Hope everyone’s still getting some time on the bike. Can’t wait for this to be over!

10.01.2022 Just when the trail crew were making some good progress we’re having to pack the tools away again That means no trail maintenance over the next six weeks. The combination of no maintenance being allowed, extra traffic and rain saw other parks close during the last lockdown. While we were lucky to be able to keep our trails open, we’re worried that this time we might not be so lucky. We hope everyone can be sensible and responsible enough to not abuse the trails and the privilege to ride. Practice the MTBA code of conduct we’ve shared previously and especially don’t ride when it’s muddy. The next six weeks is going to be super tough but if it gets this virus under control so we can get out and ride where we want then we’ll take it. Stay safe crew

09.01.2022 There’s been many reports over the past 24 hours of tightening restrictions on travelling to exercise. The official DHHS legislation can be found below. https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au//Stay%20at%20Home%20%28Restric Section 5, subclause 1A, describes unreasonable travel in relation to exercise or outdoor recreation.... There have been news articles from various sources reporting we must stay in our local area to exercise and over the past few days police have been setting up checkpoints in the area. Daniel Andrews held a press conference today where he covered the issue and although there’s been no definitive distance people can travel to exercise, we thought he made the point pretty clear that we should not be leaving our local areas to exercise. He repeated that if we’re thinking about what we’re doing and if it could be against the rules, chances are it’s against the rules. We recommend erring on the side of caution now so we can all get some freedom back ASAP. Video of the whole press conference can be found below. Skip to 21:00 for info on travelling to exercise. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cevDyclYFG0 There’s been plenty of commentary on various Facebook groups about how this relates to us wanting to go riding and we’re not here to argue about that. We get that everyone wants to go riding. That’s why we’re here, because we want to go riding too. This is just the information we have and we want to warn people before they potentially become part of the problem and possibly get fined.

08.01.2022 Keep an eye out for a young blokes bike that's gone missing from Capel Sound. https://www.facebook.com/kadatari.77/posts/10157550075953581

08.01.2022 A club member has lost a pair of Oakley Jawbreaker glasses out on the trails. If anyone comes across them you’ll make someone very happy if you let us know so we can return them They’re black and high vis yellow. Thanks!

08.01.2022 Big thanks to South East Water for awarding us part of their community grant

05.01.2022 Stoked about this 25km announcement today! Just a word of warning to all those that have been locked up (and those that haven’t) the trail crew’s been locked up to and a lot of our trails are in much need of some TLC. There’s a fair few mud pits and big puddles around from all the rain we’ve been getting too so we just want to remind everyone to ride through them, not around them, when you come across them. We don’t want to end up with big, wide mud pits everywhere. Talk to o...ther riders out and about and let each other know which tracks to avoid and which are holding up alright. We already have a huge job ahead of us to get the trails running nice so we don’t want to add too much more to that if we don’t have to. Parks have done their bit, which we’re super thankful for, but it’s a huge workload for the staff they have available. Another reminder to those that haven’t been out for a while that track conditions are probably very different to when you last rode so please take it easy at least on the first roll around Also, just want to promote physical distancing, hygiene etc so we can keep the numbers low, keep everyone happy and, most importantly, keep riding

04.01.2022 Some keen punters this weekend getting their fix after a long stint away from the hill. Car parks full every day! Tipping every MTB within 25km of here took some Red Hill mud and grit home with them You might have seen some new signs around the park. These are part of our Trail Adoption Program (TAP). After some hard work from key club members, we’ve got some awesome companies sponsoring individual trails around the park. Money goes towards the upkeep of the trails and will... be a massive help. Huge thank you from everyone that rides Red Hill to Healthwise Therapies, Bicycle Superstore, GT Bicycles, Chain Brain, Canyon, Mornington Cycles, Rocky Mountain Bicycles, Cannondale and Tint a Car Mornington. These companies have all jumped on board to support the trails so let’s all support them back. With 60% of the trails already adopted, it’s not too late for you’re company to get on the TAP train and gain a lot of exposure from the MTB/fitness community. We’ve got some BIG events coming up over the next couple of years (national level ). Contact [email protected] for details...

03.01.2022 If anyone has any info please get in touch with the local police. Please share the post around to get the word out.
