Now it’s up to us all to pick up our balls (a dog reference) or hone our skills, in my case hunting truffles, and do our very best to make the most of life, our family, our friends. Be curious. For my part I will endeavour to emulate Ray’s preparedness to spend time with younger members of the ...family and educate them in the ways of the world specifically Maddie, the other truffle hunter. 17.01.2022 Hello everyone! I hope the warm, hot, cold, balmy weather has been treating you well. According to a message on the family texting link (you know the one) there is heavy machinery engaged in serious work at the farm/truffiere. Should it be a cryptic message to suggest I too should be toiling hard on the land, I am posting this picture to demonstrate that I have been busy doing other work, & honing my skills. I was supposed to be posing on the apron admiring a jar of our #trufflemustard but I was inextricably drawn to the #truffle image. 16.01.2022 Hello all - I thought we needed some good news from #America today (and generally) - here it is. The Truffle Hunters #movie #documentary has it's premiere in #newyorkcity Sunday (#US time). Sadly I couldn't buy any virtual tickets that were on offer so I could virtually imagine myself in #NewYork in the #autumn when it feels like #truffleseason So I had to content myself with reading some more about #trufflehunting in #alba where the men speak a special #piedmontese dialect ...with the #truffledogs - just with the #dogs And, the #dogs wore head cameras for the film!! Cameras I hasten to add that would offer no protection from the 200 kilogram wild boars that apparently roam the forest in the dead of night - that's taking what I do for a living to a whole new level.
