15.01.2022 Good morning this little guy needs a lift to the Frog Hospital in Mission Beach. If anyone is heading south from Cairns, who would be willing to pick him up from Redlynch Valley Vets & give him a ride. Even if your going as far as Innisfail, Cardwell or Tully or Silkwood..Deb from the Frog Hospital is happy to make arrangements & meet you, her Landline is : 40689402 Dr Paul performed emergency surgery on this frog yesterday & he really needs to go into the sanctuary for his recovery. We usually send them down via a bus service, however during this difficult time it has ceased its service for now.

15.01.2022 This little sweetie was bought into the clinic today, hopefully we can find her hoomans. She is microchipped

15.01.2022 Most cat owners don't realise that they MUST register and microchip their pet under Queensland Government regulations. Last year more than 670 cats cats end up... at our pound and it's very hard to track down the owner if they don't have any form of identification. Registering and microchipping your cat gives us the details we need to return your pet if they get lost. Cat registration is free and life-long (you don't need to renew your rego every year). You can register your pet easily online or at one of our customer service centres: https://bit.ly/2E5JyfU

05.01.2022 Happy Friday this is so funny

04.01.2022 As the sun sets today, & as we pay honour & the highest of respect to the bravest of soldiers who have fought gallantly & who are all heroes...we can also pay tribute to the brave, courageous and hardy animals who were also conscripted. Private Jack Simpson ( a stretcher bearer for the wounded ) was given the task of finding donkeys to carry heavy loads & help the wounded troops. Private Simpson rounded up many donkeys, however, it was the donkey named Murphy who inspires us... to this day, he carried the wounded from the battle grounds while wearing a Red Cross tied between his ears. Dogs have also played an important role in both World War One & World War Two & still to this day they go into battle. In both world wars these amazing dogs were trained to carry messages undetected & could cover the most harshest of terrain. In recent wars dogs are absolute experts at bomb detecting. We can also remember on this special day the amazing Waler horses used by the Australian Light Horesman. The Australian Walers were used as cavalry & artillery horses & these horses & the soldiers who had charge of them from the time they left Australia & then on into the battle grounds were made of tough stuff & to this day are legendary for their bravery. They are sealed in history for their courageous charge at Beersheba on 31st October 1917 by the 4th & 12th regiments. These horses were in the desert & had no water for 36 hours, however, they galloped straight toward enemy fire & never hesitated for even one moment. The Turks could not believe that the Australians would be crazy enough to take them on, but they had no clue of the true Aussie spirit & the true connection each soldier had with his horse. So in conclusion, we pay tribute to our ANZAC's & their incredibly corageous animals who have bravely fought alongside with them. Lest we forget See more
