16.01.2022 Did you know!? Blue Banded Bees (Amegilla) are one of a few bees that collect pollen through 'Sonication' aka 'Buzz Pollination'. This is done by grasping the flower with their mouth parts and vibrating their flight muscles. This is very effective on plants like tomatoes where the pollen is hard to access within the staminal cone.
