Congratulations to each one of you!... Here is a little bit about Sal _____________________________________ Sal Lavallee is a Ngarigo-Buhlung from the Ngarigo and Yuin nations. They are a ritualist, a ceremony and law/lore keeper, meditation teacher, Expressive and Cultural Arts Therapist, experienced workshop facilitator and fat activist. They hold an immense passion for the land and working with communities in respecting and honouring traditional owners, ancestors and spirits of place. Their craft is a union of ancestral connection, their witchcraft traditions, their connection to the land and their living ancestral threads within an embodied passionate expression of self. They have a passion for womens circles and ceremonies, creating safe spaces for women to create, share, laugh, cry and experience spirit together. Sal has experience and training in board of director governance, having served as Secretariat and Executive Assistant for a large not for profit community lead organisation for over 5 years. ___________________________________ Thank you Sal for stepping up into this exciting new role. Capricorns domain includes structures, restrictions, boundaries, responsibilities, status, societal norms, authority figures, career, business, and government. Right now... My name is Andrea, mother of 3 beautiful children. I am an only child to loving Chilean immigrant parents who raised me in Melbourne. I am also a 5th generation Psychic Medium in my family with a strong cultural heritage. Our intergenerational teachings have become a way of life, and thanks to this I have been doing readings since I was 12 years old. I practice Mindfulness, Plant Medicine, Embodiment, Breathwork, Kundalini Reiki to mention a few. You truly am the medium to your environment. Here is a little bit about Lauren in her own words _____________________________________ I am a freelance event producer, with a background in PR, I have been producing events for over half a decade, from small scale personal passions like Documentaries For The Soul to large scale community events like The Never Never Festival. I love being the main woman behind the scenes, being the one to help others step into the light and shine their brightest. I have so much fun, and love it so much that I even recently produced a festival whilst heavily pregnant, took a quick break to birth and then got back into it with my newborn son, from only 6 weeks old! In addition, I co-founded and facilitate an amazing program for young women called Welcome To Womanhood. It is an extension of sex education for high school girls, subject support for teachers and comprehensive information for the young curious individual that we are currently reworking from an in person to an online course. I am incredibly proud of our work and to be working with some amazing and wonderful women that I have the honour of calling my closest friends. Recently I started a podcast called The Connector. Pulling together all of my resources from all of the incredible and amazing people I have met over the years to share their life stories with you. I could not imagine knowing all of these people and how inspirational, unique and interesting their stories are and not share them with everyone I possibly could. All the while I am a solo mamma to my beautiful son Archibald (Arch). He is the reason for anything and everything. It is not easy, in fact it is unbelievably difficult, and it was probably better that I wasnt aware just how much before I had him, but I wouldnt change it for the world. 10.01.2022 Introducing Marcia Ruf, who is moving from Treasurer role to a new General Member at Large role on the board of Red Tent Australia Marcia is no stranger to Red Tent Australia as she has been tirelessly working as treasure holding the huge project of figuring out our financial systems. Thank you Marcia! we would be lost without you! We are so excited to have her staying on as General Member at Large for new evolution of Red Tent Australia along with a fabulous committee of ...incredible women. Congratulations to each one of you! Here is a little bit about Marcia _____________________________________ Marcia (mar-sea-uh AKA Marc) is a 4th generation San Franciscan and Silicon Valley native who has been fighting for peace, equality and social justice since her political awakenings during the Vietnam war at the ripe old age of 7. She landed in Sydney in 2010 as a GFC refugee with five suitcases, two family members, a freshly awarded Juris Doctor degree and a skilled migrant permanent residency. Since then she has: - been licensed as an NSW Solicitor and registered on the High Court rolls; - - obtained Australian citizenship; - earned her Master of Research in Communications Policy form Macquarie university; and - been repeatedly made redundant in the shifting legal industry. Marcia recently obtained her first Patent in disruptive legal services (blockchain technology) and is now pursuing a Masters of Science in Agriculture (online) to meld her love of law and policy with her decades long activism for environmental sustainability and her passions to feed people and make things grow. Despite the ingrained cynicism of her Yank birth and lawyer training, Marcia tenaciously holds on to her idealistic belief that humanity is its own best resource. She also firmly holds that Women are called to be both the midwives of our cultural re-birth and the Warriors who defend our future. When she is not engaged in passionate discourse she can be found providing legal advice to vulnerable people through her local Community Legal Centre, on the archery range, singing with River City Voices, in the garden with her dog or in the kitchen feeding any number of stray humans she has acquired over the years. I am an Autistic empty-nester unemployed Solicitor Crone working on my third post-graduate degree. 03.01.2022 Planning for the Journey Back to In Person Circles Weve been discussing how to support and guide the Red Tent Australia branches and their facilitators in making the Journey back to in-person circles. Were working on creating guidelines for a safe and adaptable return for in person circles.... This is complicated as different regions have varying and changeable regulations, which we will be incorporating. We cant wait to see you all again as soon as we are safely able to. Congratulations to each one of you!... Here is a little bit about Meera _____________________________________ Meera Allen is an Australian based singer, dancer, songwriter, yogini and artist. A lifelong vegetarian committed to daily meditation practice, Meera is passionate about music, yoga and inner harmony. She loves sharing her peaceful, energetic presence and the stories of her fascinating guests, in the process empowering her audience to create a more holistic life and discover new music. ___________________________________ Watch her nomination video on youtube where she shares more! 01.01.2022 Introducing Emme Krystelle a new General Member at Large on the board of Red Tent Australia We are so excited to have Emme as part of the the new evolution of Red Tent Australia along with a fabulous committee of incredible women. Congratulations to each one of you!... Here is a little bit about Emme _____________________________________ Emme has been a member, regular active participant and volunteer in Red Tent circles for nearly 4 years. First at Sydneys Northern Beaches then at Hornsby. She also has participated in the Sydney North Shore and Central Coast Red Tents. Additionally, Emme has trained as a Red Facilitator at two weekend trainings and is now completing the online component. Emme has been on the national Red Tent Executive Committee for the first half of 2020. She brings to the Executive Committee her being a representative of these roles and perspectives: member, volunteer, assistant, facilitator, executive committee member and also being from an often marginalised group in society with a desire to assist in enhancing inclusiveness for women of diverse backgrounds. Abilities and interests she brings to Red Tent Australia and the executive committee from her training, vocation and life experience with groups include: - creating cultures of kindness and affirmation - connecting people at a heart level - compassionate and non-violent communication (NVC) training and experience - counselling and holistic wellbeing facilitation - experiential learning - helping to develop and facilitate holistic learning, healing and community-building events - experience with a variety of styles of womens circles having been involved regularly over the last five years with 8 different womens healing, learning and support groups. Emmes background includes creativity and performing arts, school and university teaching and youth work, caring for elderly people, teambuilding and community building, public speaking and storytelling, as well as counselling, art therapy and wellbeing. Belonging and participating in womens circles and groups is a foundation of Emmes life, healing and wellbeing and gives her great delight! ___________________________________ Thank you Emme for stepping up into this exciting new role.
