21.01.2022 Our Community Development Worker, Laura Kelly, is taking on the Live Below the Line challenge from 2nd 6th May to live on $2 per day, the equivalent of the ex...treme poverty line. Live Below the Line is a fundraising campaign that helps Australians take action on poverty. From 2-6 May, thousands of participants will make their meals count by feeding themselves on $2 a day for five days. That’s the Australian equivalent of the extreme poverty line. By taking the Live Below the Line challenge, we’re raising much-needed funds for work that helps end poverty. They’re supporting students with books, uniforms and the materials they need to access school. But they’re also changing how education is delivered once students get to school. Improving the quality of education within school, by providing things like teacher training, governance training, and resources like libraries and computer labs. And they’re also working with local and national governments, sharing their successes and revolutionising the education systems in their countries (Pretty cool, huh?). Our partners are advocates for inclusive, innovative education systems that enable all young people to reach their potential. To support Laura in her efforts and help make a difference for children living in extreme poverty please follow the link below to donate: https://www.livebelowtheline.com.au/me/laura_kelly
