25.01.2022 SHOE-FREE ZONE Heres a simple (and cozy!) way to eliminate some germs and bacteria from your home: make it a shoe-free zone! Having a Japanese heritage myself, I already do this at home and in the studio as well In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of us are paying more attention to our exposure to harmful germs and bacteria.... For centuries, people in some cultures have avoided wearing shoes in their homes. It only makes sense, because our shoes can track in anything theyve been exposed to out in the world, and studies have shown they actually can be dirtier than a toilet. Yuck, right? If youre thinking of making your home shoe-free, set up a spot to store shoes as soon as people come in the door, with a chair nearby that makes it easy to put on/take off footwear. Then, clean your floors to get rid of loose dirt and mop with a warm solution of mild disinfectant thats designed for your flooring. That way, your feet will be less likely to pick bacteria that are lingering after being tracked in by your shoes.

22.01.2022 We are BEYOND EXCITED to finally be able to announce that we are re-opening on Monday the 8th of June! As the government begins to lift the Covid-19 restrictions here in WA, I want to share our exact plans for reopening the studio on Monday the 8th of June. We cant wait to see you all again it feels like its been forever! I wanted share all of the extra preventative measures and precautions we are taking to keep our studio clean and our members healthy and safe! ... Your health and safety are our #1 priority, and every decision weve made has been guided by that premise. ReFLEXions Pilates Studio EXTRA SAFETY MEASURES: Now that our plan is laid out, we want to make sure you know about all of the additional health and safety precautions were taking at ReFLEXions! UPGRADED CLEANING SCHEDULE: We will be cleaning and disinfecting all equipment thoroughly after each use. Weve allowed for more time between sessions so we are able to clean equipment and our facility more effectively. This includes the regular cleaning of doorknobs, handrails, front desk area, and any other surfaces or objects (ex. pens) that are touched throughout the day. HAND SANITIZER & DISINFECTING WIPES: These items will be readily available for your use throughout the studio. TEAM HANDWASHING: Our instructors and team will be washing their hands when they arrive and leave for at LEAST 20 seconds, and also throughout the day after each Pilates session or Massage appointment. ReFLEXions Pilates Studio CLIENT PREVENTION: We are in this together, and we need YOUR help as we reopen to keep our studio as safe as possible. Shoes: We are asking that everyone take their shoes off at the allocated space in our reception area before entering the Pilates studio. This will help avoid tracking in any germs or bacteria. Air High-Fives! As much as we LOVE high-fives in the studio, well be doing air-high-fives for the time being. Hand Washing: Please wash your hands (up to your elbows) for at LEAST 20 seconds BEFORE and AFTER your workout. Please Stay Home If Youre Not Well: If youre not feeling 100%, please stay home and rest until you are feeling better. (Our team will also be following this policy!) Please Avoid Congregating In Groups Before / After Class: We also are asking clients to avoid gathering in groups before, during, or after their workouts. Again, this is because of social distancing guidelines. If you arrive early for your workout, consider staying in your car until its time to come in. Phew! That was a lot to cover! Please know the above may change slightly if government recommendations change. Thank you so much for your patience as we navigate through the reopening. We can not WAIT to see you again back in the studio! As always, were here for you. If you have any questions or need anything, reach out any time.

22.01.2022 Dear clients To ensure the health and safety of our community and staff, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our studio from 12.00pm Monday, 23 March 2020 in response to COVID-19. We will reopen as soon as the authorities have deemed it safe to return to normal. Your health and fitness continues to be our number one priority. Just because we are unable to train in-facility that doesnt mean our journey to better health and wellness ends here. Our team is... working hard to bring together an at-home training program to keep us fit, healthy and strong during this challenging time in Australias history. We are currently developing different ways of delivering our services while our facilities are closed. We will keep you informed as new services become available. We hope to have our online platform live in the next few days. This exclusive membership platform will host group sessions, duet sessions, private sessions etc that you can easily join on your smart phone, tablet, laptop or desktop... Were so excited about this!! As always, please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any queries or concerns. Stay safe and healthy! Talk soon xx ReFLEXions team :-)

21.01.2022 With all the news about the coronavirus pandemic, its easy to feel powerless over your health. But there actually are some steps you can take to help your immune system in top shape. Taking action goes a LONG way toward moving you from overwhelmed to empowered.... Ive got a list of healthy immune-boosting actions you can take to get back that sense of control. NOTE: Remember, its still super important to follow prevention guidelines for handwashing and avoiding people who are sick . even if you follow these steps! Get enough sleep. This can help improve your bodys natural immune function. Aim for 7-8 hours a night. Keep up with your fitness routine. Moderate to intense workouts lasting under an hour help boost your immune system both immediately and in the long run. Cut back on your stress with scheduled downtime and breathing exercises. Chronic stress appears to wear down your immune system, which can make you more vulnerable to illness. Eat a healthy & balanced diet thats low in sugar. A balanced diet that contains veggies, fruits, and healthy fats is rich in antioxidants and micronutrients that support your immune system. Stay hydrated. Drinking enough water makes it easier for your cells to do their job plus allows your body to more easily process food and eliminate waste. In this video our superstar client Steve works on his core muscles and shoulder stabilisers. The TRX is an awesome and inexpensive tool to have at home for effective and fun workouts!

16.01.2022 Its never too late to get into shape and gain muscle you can absolutely do it. It doesnt matter what your age is. It just takes time, consistency and a little patience. Anyway heres why its so important! When you hit the age of 30, you start losing 3% to 5% of your muscle mass each year. ... Studies even show that over your lifetime you can lose up to 30% of your muscle! Less muscle = less strength = less balance = more risk of falls and fracture. Not good! Plus, not only does keeping your muscles healthy improve your strength and quality of life, but it also is an important part of keeping your metabolism revved (i.e., burning fat) as you age. This is why strength training is so important as you get older! It can help your body retain your muscle, and maybe even reverse the trend. Here are two to-dos to put on your weekly self-care list to get a jump start on keeping that precious muscle and helping it stay strong and flexible. These things will pay off not only now, but decades into the future. Get at least TWO total body strength-training workouts in each week. BONUS: Resistance training also helps keep your bones strong. Make time to stretch. This gets even more important as you get older. Not only does it help cut back on aches and pains, but it helps your muscles move through a wide range of motion. Maintaining flexibility is a surprising factor when it comes to balance. When your range of motion becomes limited, it can affect your walking gait as well as your posture. Both of those have a big effect on your balance! Try to set aside 5-10 minutes several days a week to work on your flexibility. Even if those older years seem far away, its definitely worth a little thought now. Your future you will be super grateful to present-day you, I promise! And did you know that Pilates work on both strength as well as flexibility? I have 1 spot left for a Success Session call this week. If you want to chat about how Pilates can help you improve your strength, flexibility and balance, let me know ASAP and we can get some time scheduled! Make it an active day! #pilates #pilatesstudio #pilatesinstructor #pilateslover #selfcare #booragoon #melville #perth #myaree #balance #flexibility

16.01.2022 Happy Easter! No catch ups this Easter weekend... Nonetheless full of joy and gratitude for what we can still enjoy #loveperth #perthisok Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. Im trying not to eat all the chocolates eggs in one weekend

15.01.2022 One thing Im sure most of us have picked up on is the fact that who you spend time with the most is who you will become. Its important that you surround yourself with people who will have a positive influence on you. Whether it be friends, family or colleagues, it is important to surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you, who are going to inspire you and challenge us to be our best selves.... Also remember that as you benefit from surrounding yourself with people who will lift your higher, youll also suffer when those in your business or social circles are negative or narrow-minded. I count my blessings everyday, because I have these two amazing girls in my team who are always so positive, happy and supportive

12.01.2022 DONT TOUCH FACE CHALLENGE Ive got challenge for you! Are you ready? It might be one of the biggest challenges weve ever given you.... Its to NOT TOUCH your eyes, nose or mouth. Basically, keep your hands away from your face! Its so much tougher than it sounds but the payoffs could last for years! Health experts say to cut back our risk of contracting the Coronavirus, we should stop touching our face. This is good health advice all the time so picking up this habit now will go a long way toward avoiding other bugs and viruses in the future, too! Most of us have had this habit since childhood its time to just say NO! Especially to nail biting. Are you going to join me in this challenge by fighting the urge to touch your face?

12.01.2022 #25dayPushUpChallenge Hi all, just letting you know that we are now taking Remedial Massage bookings :-) Also, our lovely instructor Ana has challenged me to a 25 day push up challenge to raise awareness for perinatal anxiety and depression PANDA. ... (The rules are simple): *Once you are nominated your 25 days starts the following day. *Everyday you record yourself doing 25 push-ups even if you have to drop to your knees to get 25 *Every day you must nominate a different person. Today I nominate our superstar client and friend Steve Bathgate

10.01.2022 HANDWASHING 101! Did you know there is a proper science-backed way to wash your hands? This might seem obvious, but in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, its worth a refresher in proper technique. :) ... Heres the how-to from the Centers for Disease Control: Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap (to save water!), and apply soap. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Also be sure to lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. Lathering well creates friction to help dislodge any stubborn microbes on your skin. Germs and microbes are found on all parts of your hand, especially under your hands. BONUS POINTS for washing up to your elbows! Scrub your hands for at LEAST 20 seconds. According to the CDC, washing hands for 15-30 seconds removes more germs than washing for a shorter period of time. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water. Dry your hands using a clean, dry towel or air dry them. Avoid air blowers because they can spread more germs not only onto your clean hands, but into the air.

10.01.2022 This time it was me who didnt get the memo Its been a week of #twinning #pilates #pilateslovers #pilatesinstructor #pilatesstudio

09.01.2022 This is our lovely client Ben. With Remedial Massage and his yoga practice, he now enjoys doing things the loves doing without that niggling pain on his back.... Getting results like we got for Ben is what motivates us to do what we do here at ReFLEXions. Thank you so much Ben for taking the time to share you experience with us! We look forward to seeing again soon!

03.01.2022 Here at ReFLEXions, we care about your health and well-being, both immediately and in the long term! I also want to let you know that we are taking extra care to help protect our members in the wake of the COVID-19 virus (aka Coronavirus) Here are some steps we are taking at our studio... 1. As much as we LOVE high-fives in the studio, well be doing air-high-fives for right now! 2. Please wash your hands (up to your elbows) for at LEAST 20 seconds BEFORE and AFTER your workout. 3. We encourage you to bring your own towel to cover surfaces youll be lying on. 4. We are wiping down every piece of equipment as often as we can with disinfectant wipes. 5. We are stepping up our cleaning schedule 6. Instructors will be practising teaching from a distance of a minimum if 1 metre from students when possible. 7. We will keep each member of the studio at a minimum of 1 metre apart during our Pilates sessions. 8. We are encouraging members to use the studios hand sanitiser if they desire. 9. And we ask that clients who are sick or not feeling well please stay home. Let your body heal! We also encourage you to continue your workouts, since regular activity is a part of a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Studies show that moderate workouts lasting an hour or less helps improve your overall immune function plus they can help you destress, which can also help keep your immune system strong.
