25.01.2022 ** Reggio Parramatta CBD** We embraced NAIDOC week at our CBD centre. We celebrated the rich history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples . There were in depth discussions about the meaning behind NAIDOC week. Our children participated in indigenous inspired artwork , music , dance and stories all week. All the children learnt so much during the week, they showed a lot of interest in the Aboriginal culture and were very eager to participa...te! EYLF Outcomes: 2.2 Children respond to diversity with respect. 4.1 Children develop dispositions for learning such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination and reflexivity. #naidocweek #celebration



25.01.2022 ** Reggio Gladstone St ** NAIDOC Week This week at our Gladstone St Centre, the children have explored various experiences to help celebrate NAIDOC week. Children have explored the Aboriginal culture through different experiences such as matching Aboriginal symbols to their meanings, drawing Aboriginal symbols in sand trays and exploring their imaginations through different Dreamtime stories they have read as a group. 23.01.2022 ** Reggio Gladstone St** As we continue developing on our Share the Happiness campaign here at the Gladstone st centre, this week we focused on Gardening Galore! Children across the centre engaged in a variety of different gardening experiences from planting vegetable and fruit seeds, to watering the garden and weeding too. 22.01.2022 ** Reggio Parramatta CBD** Children at CBD showed great interest in water conservation. They have been collecting their left over water from cups after their lunch time and emptying their bottles before leaving the centre in our water conservation tank. As it was raining today, we got an excellent opportunity to learn about water harvesting. The children took their water conservation container outside to collect rain water that we can use later for watering our indoor plants... and mopping the floor. We will explore more ways of water harvesting and its use in the coming weeks. 22.01.2022 ** Reggio Dee Why** The Willow children enjoyed playing with the sand. Many of the children participated in a creative experience of exploring sea animals and feeling the sand. They love to play with sharks and other sea animals. This activity was a group activity so that they can communicate and develop their learning on sea animals! Exploring the sea animals helps them to know about the name of creatures and also helps us to know about their habitat and how they surviving ...their life underwater and also feeling the sand helps us to develop sensational skills to feel them. As it was a group activity they are developing their communicational skills by sharing the space. Children got creative in the sandpit as they used different sand tools and wet sand to make their sandcastles.
