24.01.2022 One from our Friends in the NSW Police Force.

24.01.2022 From the Alpine regions of NSW to the Desert, FRNSW supports firefighters with specialised training and equipment to ensure that they are Prepared for Anything.... Recently Regional trainer Anthony Hatch and Captain Garth Willmot delivered training to firefighters working in the Alpine community of Perisher Valley. Firefighters were trained to use the varied specialist equipment deployed to this community to provide protection and to Protect the Irreplaceable. #MoreThanFire #PreparedForAnything #ProtectTheIrreplaceable

18.01.2022 FIRE BLANKETS | As the weather begins to warm up, you may have begun to prepare your home for Summer. If you've recently purchased a fire blanket, it's importa...nt you know how to use it! Use on a small flame, and only if you feel it is safe to do so Pull the blanket from it's bag and hold it by the corners to protect your hands Approach the fire slowly, with your arms outstretched Place the blanket over the fire, doing your best to form a seal Turn off power if it is safe to do so Get out. Stay Out. Call Triple Zero (000) #PreparedForAnything #ProtectTheIrreplaceable

18.01.2022 Yesterday I had the privilege to be invited to the opening of the NSW Rural Fire Service’s new state of the art Fire Control Centre recently built in Harden. T...he Minister for Police and Emergency Services David Elliot, State Member for Cootamundra, Stephanie Cook, Assistant Commissioner NSW RFS Peter McKechnie, Deputy Mayor Hilltops Council Tony Wallace and Mayor Cootamundra-Gundagai Abb McAlister participated in the official opening ceremony, with NSW RFS South West Slopes, District Manager Andrew Dillion facilitating the event. It is fantastic to have such a great facility available especially in preparation for the up and coming fire season, this facility will also be available to all Emergency Service Agencies across the South West Zone for training and meetings. This is a great asset to not just the NSW RFS but to the Harden and surrounding communities. It was also great to catch up with the other Emergency Services that attended the day. #FRNSW #NSWSES #nswpolice #nswrfs #NSWAmbulance

14.01.2022 Thanks to NSW RFS for accomodating FRNSW for a weekend of fire fighter skill maintenance training at Mogo. Slightly damp weather didn’t dampen the fire fighters enthusiasm to be prepared for anything. #FRNSW #preparedforanything #RS1 #regionalsouth #RS2

12.01.2022 Today marks the second stage of the Queanbeyan Paver Project, an initiative celebrating the upgrade of the Queanbeyan Police Station with a NSW Police Legacy wa...lk. Up until now, sales of the pavers have been open only to former/serving police in the Monaro Police District, but today sales are thrown open to the public. Community members and local businesses are all invited to show their support for this wonderful initiative, knowing that all money raised will support the Police Family through NSW Police Legacy. 06.01.2022 Well done Yass!

04.01.2022 Well done everyone down south of Region South.

04.01.2022 The entire FRNSW Education and Training Directorate express our sadness at the passing last night of our colleague, Station Officer Brian Aubusson. Brian was o...n leave from his current position of Senior Instructor, Regional North 2. His passing was sudden and unexpected and our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time. Brian joined FRNSW in September 1979 and gave faithful service to the people of NSW for 41 years, both in firefighting roles and in his role as a Regional Instructor. Brian commenced with Education and Training in 1998 and over the 22 years with the Directorate has contributed to the skills acquisition and maintenance of a whole generation of firefighters. Sadly, he was looking forward to his retirement later this year. Brian was hugely respected not only by us in E & T, but also by his colleagues in Fire & Rescue NSW Regional North Area Command where he spent the latter part of his career, and our thoughts and prayers go out to the RN2 firefighters and zone management team, who worked closely with him. Brian was a supportive and engaging person and was most recently commended for his actions in support of the floods and bushfires which severely impacted the Lismore/Ballina area. He is also fondly remembered for his enduring over-use of the term "athletes". Rest in peace, Aubo. We will miss you. Thank you for your service. We welcome any tributes or memories in the comments below.

03.01.2022 Well done 230 station Bombala and all the fire fighters past and present.

01.01.2022 Gives new meaning to the term #preparedforanything!

01.01.2022 With an increase in the use of hand sanitiser, we’d like to remind everyone that its contents are flammable. If you’re planning a BBQ this weekend, please ensur...e that you completely dry your hands after using hand sanitiser before coming into contact with a naked flame. #PreparedForAnything #ProtectTheIrreplaceable See more
