24.01.2022 Some of our Hurstville residents have been sharing a few jokes amongst each other as they socialised over coffee in the Home. After a few good, bad and awful jokes, our residents thought it would be a beautiful idea to share these with their fellow residents in our Victorian Homes as a gesture of support and kindness. Moments like these are to be forever cherished thank you for your kindheartedness.

24.01.2022 Our Maroochydore garden is booming with produce so much that our team have had to build another garden bed to fit all the seedlings! Our residents and staff recently harvested some of their delicious radishes and delivered them straight to the kitchen to add to the salad orders. Yum!

24.01.2022 Ken Little has been in the fruit and veg game for over 40 years and we’re proud to partner with him and his team in Port Macquarie, NSW. We know that all the produce delivered to our local home will be of the best quality and taste for our residents. Ken knows his apples from his oranges, and is eager to help us choose the best fruit and veg for our home. We value our special relationship with local businesses and, now more than ever, are looking at additional ways we can help our communities.

22.01.2022 Winifred Robertson celebrated her 105th birthday today with her family here at Regis Dandenong North. Affectionately known as Winnie, she was smiling as soon as she saw her balloons. Residents and staff came together to sing happy birthday to Winnie and give her flowers and birthday cake on this momentous day. When staff asked what her secret was, she said, I really don’t know with a big smile on her face.

21.01.2022 This morning our lovely residents at Regis Sandgate Musgrave assisted the team to prepare and wrap our Stufflers soft toys. These handcrafted toys will be going to Sandgate's charity of choice - The Kmart Wishing Tree. They’ll be placed under the Christmas tree, to then be given to the local children as a festive gift. Our residents were delighted to be part of such a charitable cause and thoroughly enjoyed making these toys for the children, especially after a tough year for everyone. Thank you for your generosity!

20.01.2022 The residents of Regis Caboolture stroll through our gardens with pride and joy. Our garden enthusiast, Frank, spends his days pottering around the grounds of our Home caring for nature and tending to the flowers and plants, seeds and branches. Frank has received much praise from the residents and their families, and it’s inspirational to see our gardens thrive because of his passion.

20.01.2022 In 2020 we have missed our Volunteers and it was exceptionally difficult to decide between Doug and Barb. We have decided that this year will see both Doug and Barb jointly win the award for Volunteer of the Year. Doug is one of our highly valued volunteers who visits four of our male residents at Regis Playford. The residents describe Doug as a kind man with a great sense of humour and someone they can talk to about anything. Barb is another of our highly valued volunteers who comes into the home three days a week at Regis Sunraysia. Barb does a different activity each visit and will have residents lining up to join in.

20.01.2022 Just three more sleeps until Christmas! In collaboration with HelloCare, our Sunraysia residents wanted to spread some holiday cheer with messages of love and happiness and what the holidays mean to them. What's your happiest Christmas memory?

19.01.2022 It's incredible what teamwork, dedication and having a meaningful goal can achieve. Our residents at Regis Sandgate Griffith have come together to work on a passion project of theirs - to create their very own garden house and trolley for home grown fruit and veg. Getting involved in projects such as these provide so many positive benefits to our residents. Notably, it's a wonderful way to build strong friendships and engage in interesting conversations.

18.01.2022 A few of our eager Lutwyche residents joined in making pom poms to form a colourful wreath of joy to spread happiness around the Home. The residents loved this unique activity and it was a delight to see everyone participating and engaging in something simple, yet rewarding. After the wreaths were finished, our residents joked around by putting their faces through them and asked to get snapped on camera!

17.01.2022 Our volunteer at Regis Sunraysia has been sending in postcards to the residents of places of interest around our local community. The residents have been reminiscing about the old days and how our town has changed over the years. This has been a great idea to keep our volunteers, community and residents connected. Community engagement is paramount at Regis and we love seeing our residents continue to be stimulated and engaged.

16.01.2022 At Regis, we believe in giving you choice. You can see here our engaged, stimulated and happy Sandgate Musgrave residents participating in a variety of activities. Our Lifestyle Team take the time to find out your interests and hobbies so that they can create a bespoke plan to suit your wants and needs.

15.01.2022 John enjoys sitting out in the sun whenever he gets an opportunity. Indi, our resident feline friend, often keeps John company to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and his companionship. Indi came from RSPCA Victoria and has enjoyed the lifestyle in our Dandenong North Home for the last two years. Our residents love her and it’s beautiful to see the bond created between human and animal.

15.01.2022 Today we celebrated Eileen’s 100th birthday at Regis Playford. She was very chuffed after receiving many cards and flowers from residents, family and staff. Eileen proudly allowed us to display all these gifts with her beautifully decorated cake made by our Chef Manager, Kirstie. Happy Birthday!

Whilst basking in the sun, our residents played 18 holes and even made some friends along the way George the Gorilla and Terry the Triceratops. Our residents love getting out into the community and enjoying all it has to offer.

11.01.2022 At Regis Inala Village, there is a very old, large and gnarled Peppercorn tree which is admired by everyone living at the Village. Two of our creative residents saw great potential for the hollow in the tree and, with their creation, we now have an additional ‘unit’ for rent, but only for a special type of resident The Fairy House has generated great interest and delight amongst our residents. The sign on the door changes monthly and each month we run a competition for the residents to guess the sign on the door.

11.01.2022 Spring has truly arrived and the native plants in our garden at Regis Woodlands have started to bloom! In their Garden Activity this week, the team chose a variety of plants and involved the residents in arranging a display for the reception desk. Well done to our wonderful residents for their creative input.

09.01.2022 The winner in the 2020 Initiative or Innovation of the Year award is Regis Elermore Vale. One of the challenges experienced by residents through Covid-19 has been their limited ability to get out and do a bit of shopping or having their loved ones come into the home to bring them shopping items. The team at Elermore Vale could see the impact this was having on the residents and came up with an idea for a shopping trolley that would bring the shops to their home and allow them to select what they would like. This process involved the residents, their families and the team at Elermore Vale and the success speaks for itself the residents have choice and feel a sense of independence and excitement each time the trolley comes around.

08.01.2022 Our Lifestyle Team at Regis Lutwyche have been engaging our residents to find out what ‘respect’ means to them. 05.01.2022 Our Lutwyche Lifestyle Team is enthused by this hearty emotion when it comes to helping to keep our wonderful residents occupied, included and happy. It brings us great pleasure when we see them relaxed or participating in any chosen activity. A simple thing such as creating a useful book marker from scratch, colouring in the images, laminating it and adding a ribbon can feel very rewarding. Small accomplishments and the use of creative elements enable our residents to feel connected and proud of these achievements.

02.01.2022 We are privileged to have the company of two biological brothers who reside here at Regis Belmore. We sat down with Joseph Chamoun and George Chamoun and had a conversation around their thoughts, feelings, relationship and childhood memories. What advice would you give young people? Joseph stated, Have no regrets, enjoy your life, while George said Listen to your intuition and pick the right partner, go for a holiday and enjoy your life." This image was taken prior to updated NSW regulations on the wearing of masks in residential aged care homes by staff.

They were much appreciated and it was a terrific exercise in keeping our residents connected and contributing to our community.

01.01.2022 This week saw a special treat for our residents at Regis Playford. Cheeky, our Lifestyle Coordinator's horse, treated our residents to a much needed visit. Cheeky loves his job as a therapy horse and loves the attention residents give him when they pat, hug and even give him carrots. Cheeky doesn't like apples though... Cheeky is a 22 year-old Few Spot Appaloosa who retired 4 years ago from jumping and dressage. He is loving retirement and loves to visit our home. Our residents look forward to his visits and are looking forward to him returning in December for a Christmas visit where he may perform some steps to a song or two.

01.01.2022 Regis Nedlands were lucky enough to have an animal farm visit the Home this week. The session was gifted to our residents for Christmas by one of their families - our team is so thankful to have such wonderful and supportive families at Regis Nedlands! We were visited by goats, ducks, chickens, rabbits and even a pony! So many beautiful memories captured.
