13.01.2022 Councils initiative to give patrons free entry to swimming pools on days (37 degrees or above) has created an anomaly with regard to Pool Season Tickets and th...e benefits attached to them. This has occurred over both the 2018/19 and 2019/20 swimming seasons. Council is currently arranging for season ticket holders to be reimbursed with Gwydir Dollars in the form of a gift card. This reimbursement will occur at the end of this season when the exact number of free entry days is known and a pro rate amount can be calculated for both seasons. The Gwydir Dollars gift card will only be able to be spent within the Gwydir Shire local businesses. These gift cards will also form the basis of a Buy Local campaign and will be available from April 2020. The Tender period for the new Bingara pool and splash program pool closed on 28 January 2020. Updates will be available on these projects over the coming weeks. The Bingara and Warialda pools are looking incredible so enjoy the facilities and cool down.
