23.01.2022 PEOPLE never forget how managers treated them when they were facing loss. What they will remember is how our institutions, managers, and peers, held us through this crisis or failed to. Working successfully with leaders for 20 years reintegrating their people post-crises e.g. lock-outs, en-masse downsizing and SARS, there are a few lessons I would like to share about what we believe should be top of mind for organisations and leaders preparing for a successful COVID-19 co...meback: 1. The belief that life will return to 'normal' and that your people will behave as if it's BAU is ludicrous; 2. Planning for workforce reintegration must start now; 3. 22.01.2022 My daughter Allegra is a kind, exhuberantly creative, clever, compassionate and joyful child. Here is the note I received about her #creativity at school - "Allegra made poor choice during a creative activity when she started gluing herself and applying glitter and then shaking glitter on others." When I asked Allegra about it she said to me - "Mamma I sprinkled glitter everywhere so I could dance under the stars". We have nurture creativity in our children, we have to encourage their #dreams and spark their #imaginations. There is nothing more precious than maintaining our wonder and #joyforlife....even as adults.

19.01.2022 "Leadership makes the difference between life and death" - Editor-in-Chief of The West Australian Anthony DeCeglie told us as he opened for WA Premier Mark McGowan this morning at the Crown Ballroom - normally this would sound like journalistic sensationalism, but in this Covid-19 context never were truer words spoken. 12.01.2022 THERE is no Business Agility without Emotional Agility. As a leadership agility coach I have witnessed the best and worst leadership over the last 6 weeks. How leaders have treated people during this time and beyond will define how they will be remembered as leaders by those they serve. Some food for thought: 1. People have NOT been working from home. They have been staying at home during a crisis, trying to get work done. 2. Leaders who have not shown empathy and demon...strated a people-first approach will undoubtedly lose loyalty from their people and customers. 3. Peoples state of mind will be forever altered by what we have been through there is no such thing as a return to BAU. 4. To be solely driven by financial returns on Day 1 and drive people productivity via a single focus on tasks and transactions is probably not your best move. The reality is there is no clearly defined map on how to best manage a successful come-back except that being able to lead in an emotionally agile way is critical for business regeneration. Working hard to build emotional agility is the foundation for any successful workforce reintegration strategy. It's the secret sauce for any business to become truly agile. There is an ongoing divide in public opinion as to whether a judge should speak out in public matters. 07.01.2022 EMPLOYEES STUCK in a post-traumatic slump will impact the speed of our economic recovery. The impact of so much psychological upheaval over an extended period means that many will be stuck in survival mode. This means being physically present, but psychologically absent resulting in an inability to get back to work in any kind of productive way. What can employers do to get their employees over the hump and get them back to performing at their best? To speed up the retur...n to healthy business operating rhythms, leaders must: 1. Tune in to employees and what is going on around them 3. Get in touch with their own feelings 4. Express their feelings openly 5. Show empathy for others & act with compassion. No clearly defined map exists on how to best manage a successful return to work except that understanding the depth of the psychological fall-out on people and, being able to lead in an emotionally agile way is critical. How leaders have led their people during the time away and upon their return will define how they will be remembered by those they serve. 01.01.2022 Next week we are running our last #trailblazer workshop "Think #Entrepreneur" with Nick Leigh which incorporates a #designthinking and #sharktank #simulation component to really separate the doers from the dreamers. But why is this so important for women? When I was writing Bitch Fight I was looking for a fresh angle on women #bullying women at work. Everyone I spoke to was giving me the same old beige commentary. It was so BORING I literally started falling asleep at my desk...! And then I started thinking about what we could learn as human animals from animals in the wild. I reached out to a guy called Cesar Milan aka Dog Whisperer and friends of Dr. Jane Goodall to present a view on the WHY of this seriously troubling issue. And the rest is history. Heres the thing it takes an army of #collaborators and #inspired people to realise a great idea. Otherwise that is all it will be an IDEA!! Engage the support and help of those around you and people you never thought you would EVER reach out to stop dreaming and start doing!
