15.01.2022 Autumn is the air element. The wind picks up blowing away the debris, the old leaves fall from trees, into earth, nourishing the roots so once again the tree w...ill blossom. Autumn winds tend to drying including our skin, ready to peel away yet another layer. Just as the snake sheds its skin or the leaves falling from the tree in preparation for the new beginning at winter. The air element may be a time of sadness, grief and hopelessness due to a lack in the autumn organs. When they are in a state of health we feel joy, elation and hope, we want to LET GO of all that no longer serves, so we can make that new beginning in winter. The autumn organs are of excretion; lungs, colon, skin and nerves. Breathe out the stagnant energy (prana) feel this as giving and deeply draw in the refreshing autumn air and feel yourself receiving. Drink plenty of water to keep the colon moving and prevent the skin from drying along with some good oils. Practice breathing exercises; make sure the breath moves deeply into the belly, especially the solar plexus. Breathing not only strengthens the lungs and diaphragm, it soothes the nervous system, especially the celiac nerves which lie in the solar plexus, located just under the lungs muscle the diaphragm, between the apex of the lower ribs and navel. The celiac nerves control a lot of our digestion and adrenal function, since the digestive organs are related to our emotions and now discovering even the brain and that there are more nerves in the gut than the brain, this is a great area to look into for stress management and blockages of the organs along with Many other health issues. What I am suggesting here is the importance to sit up straight!!!!! Get off your organs so the diaphragm can open to its fullest capacity, this way your breath will massage your organs rather than block them. Autumn Yoga: Above the head Arm stretches help to open the lower region of the lungs, postures such as cobra, camel, wheel will open the diaphragm and stimulate the spinal and celiac nerves. To work the colon (large intestine); side bends, twists, one-legged forward bends, Nauli. For calming the nervous system; pranayama (breathing), nadhi shodhana (alternate nostril breathing), Brahmarai (humming bee) - this one is great for the calming the heart and reducing anxiety. Eat foods in season; pungent foods such as radish to aid these organs, liquorice root strengthens the lungs and cleans the lymphatic system and of course the famous oats helps to clean colon and calm nerves. Fermented foods or a good acidophilus will feed the intestinal tract good bacteria, which boosts immune. The list goes on, just stick with the foods in season. It is not time to liver cleanse, this should be done in spring when the weather is warming not cooling. See more

04.01.2022 Exciting news! Under current regulations I am able to return to providing clients with the Remedial Treatment they require. Over the next 6 weeks I will be available most Wednesdays Thursdays and some Saturdays for treatments at Glenbrook Chiropractic Clinic. It goes without saying that within the clinic we have increased our already high cleanliness and hygiene standards, but I am saying it anyway. Each client will be screened with a number of questions upon booking and I... ask that if you are showing any kind of flu type symptoms that you delay your treatment for the health and safety of yourself, me and all other clients.
