15.01.2022 Our plans changed over Christmas. We were meant to make a big trip to Brissie to see family and friends. But with the ever changing restrictions we made the decision to stay home and get to know South Australia a little more. Our last trip was Mount Gambier, stunning place! And now it's back to the studio for me. What a year 2020 was! I'm sure we could all share how 2020 brought some massive changes into our lives. But I am not here to talk about that. I chose books as a background for Jazmin as she loves reading. I placed a heap of her books opened and laid flat on the floor beside her bedroom window (remember light, light, light).

09.01.2022 *JOIN ME: 7 DAYS OF FUN MOBILE PHOTOGRAPHY: Stuck at home? Bored? Grab your mobile and join me for 7 days of fun photography using your mobile. Your kids can join in too. POST YOUR RESULTS IN COMMENTS. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM.... DAY 1: OIL AND WATER What youll need: Oil Water Glass dish Books or similar to elevate glass dish Bright neon background (google, Pinterest etc...endless options) on a device Mobile to take pictures Method: Check images below for visual help with setting up 1. Pour some oil in to your dish. No need for full coverage, blotches are fine. Add a little water (you can sprinkle this on with your fingers or add a few tablespoons..depending on the result youre looking for). At this stage it may not look fancy. But wait... 2. Grab your device (I used an ipad) and choose a brightly coloured background (I searched google and found some screen savers). I find at least two colours or more work best. Place the device under the elevated dish (use books etc to elevate dish). 3. Grab your mobile, get in close with the camera (make sure its in focus. If it wont focus youre too close, just move back a little). Click.click.click . 4. Once youve taken your images you can leave them as is or take it a step further and edit them on your mobile. That is up to you *notes: try different backgrounds, swirl the water and oil with a spoon for different affects, you could record the movement (check video), most importantly enjoy the experience. And if you have kids, get them involved.

08.01.2022 Day 3: Fun Mobile Photography TV Backdrop - This ones easy ;) What youll need:... Smart TV Mobile Phone Method: 1. Select a backdrop (we chose galaxy style backdrops and found this on Google as screen savers) either through a device (screen mirror on to your TV), upload onto TV screen or use Google on your TV. 2. Place the person in front of the TV screen, to the side. Usually you want to aim for the person to be leaning towards the TV and facing a light source (window, doorway). 3. Snap away. Note: You can crop the images to suit. Edit them too (play with tones and so on). And remember HAVE FUN!

07.01.2022 Day 2 Fun Mobile Photography: Night Light Painting What youll need:... Mobile Some sort of stand or something stable for your mobile to be placed on At least one other device: mobile, iPad etc (2 or more is great) 2 or more household members to participate, depending on how creative you want to get. Method: 1. On your mobile open your camera and go into settings/options/more (depending on your mobile type) and click on pro/manual mode. This is where you want to find your shutter speed and bring it to 10 seconds (please view settings in images below to get an idea for a Samsung mobile). For those who have an iPhone or other I would suggest Googling...its quick and easy! 2. You will need a dark background. We chose to go in the backyard of an evening. Have at least 1 other device ready with a bright solid coloured background (set screen to brightest). 3. One person will need to be behind the mobile phone which will be taking the photo. Another person posed if youre choosing this look (check images below) otherwise you could draw a word/shape etc with your screen if there are only two of you. 4. The person taking the images will need to place the mobile on a sturdy place (the mobile cant be moved as each image will take 10 seconds to capture). Have the poser ready in position(if youre using one), the light painter (person holding the device with a bright screen) ready to paint around the person or there abouts /and/or ready to draw a word or shape etc (again please refer to images). 5. Once everyone is in place. Click to capture the image without trying to bump you phone. The poser remains still and the light painter can paint around the person with their device screen/light facing the photographer during the 10 second frame. Notes *Make sure to focus on the poser before clicking to capture image. We did this by shining the bright screen on the poser to allow the camera to focus and then took the image. *get creative!! *it may take some practice. *If what Ive written is confusing or you would like to see it visually, check you tube; plenty of videos out there to help.

06.01.2022 Day 6: Fun Mobile Photography "Painting with Light" Theres something beautiful about light. Light can paint a dull, dry summer field in to something beautiful, almost golden. Light brings life to an alright image. ... Next time youre out on a walk and have your mobile or camera handy look for the light. Some of the best lighting happens at sunset and sunrise. Give it a go, you wont be disappointed. And remember: Practice makes perfect. If you dont get it right, try and try again. 06.01.2022 As most may not know me, I thought it was about time I posted a little about myself. To start, the most obvious: my name is Natalie. A few quick facts: + I hate being in front of the camera but love being behind it ... +I have a twin brother, and two older brothers who are twins. We are 14 months apart! Yes, mum's washing line was full of cloth nappies! +I loooove chocolate! +I'm a night owl +I enjoy gardening when I get a chance +I am a visual learner +I enjoy reading, playing the guitar and ukulele, mucking around on the piano, creative writing and drawing and absolutley love the outdoors.
