19.01.2022 TIP: 1.) Use the inside flaps to itemise the contents within the box as you load. 2.) When the box is sealed write down the room it is going to.... WHY IS THIS USEFUL If you need to retrieve something from a sealed box and you know which room it was designated for, it is just a matter of opening each box for that room and checking the inside flaps for the contents of that box. ValuMoves response times and availability were impressive (we had contacted 4 other companies, 2 didnt answer, 1 gave us a standard and very long quote). Mark was the only one to get back to us and to come over to our place to assess what we had to move within 24 hours. We were in a bit of a rush as we needed to vacate our existing place with a newborn, a toddler, and our parents visiting from overseas. Mark booked us for the following week, and we were packed, moved, unpacked and truly settled in our new home in 48 hours! Effectively moving 6 people and belongings! Marks and his teams attention to detail was impressive and efficient. 17.01.2022 TIP: If you are moving in to or out of a multistorey complex be sure to check the dimensions of the lift. Find out if a separate service lift can be used and i...f possible ask the manager or body corporate for a key to control the opening and closing of the lift doors. This can prevent doors from damaging goods and personnel when they close at a critical loading moment, and prevents door open alarm from being triggered. There may also be a requirement to hang protective curtains inside the lift before it is used to convey furniture. Your building manager may help/supply with this. And lastly, be a good neighbour and advise other owners and tenants you need special access to the lift and shared parking areas because you are moving in or out. 10.01.2022 TIP: If you have many wide boxes, then try this technique to save time loading your trolley. All you need are 2 pieces of wood. Just place the pieces of wood wide enough apart so your boxes can sit on them and your trolley toe can fit between them. Once you have your boxes stacked on the wood, its easier to transition them onto your trolley. Have someone stack the boxes while someone trolleys them to the vehicle..... We used this technique the other day and it worked a treat.
