11.02.2022 How often do you look at your website analytics? There are a few important things that it will tell you. 1. How long someone is spending on your website. 2. Your bounce rate, which looks at the % of your website visitors that left after viewing only one page. 3. The total number of visits including how many were new and how many were returning.... 4. The channels from which your traffic has come through from, such as: direct, organic search, referral, email, paid search, other advertising, social and display. 5. Conversion goals, which could be email subscriptions, contact form submissions, content downloads, engaging in a live chat, watching videos and of course making a sale. 6. Measurement of engagement which enables you to understand website visitor behaviour. It looks at the amount of time visitors stay on your website, as well as how many pages they visit. 7. Your site content which give you a break down of every page on your website and tracks total number of page views, unique page views, average time on page, entrances, bounce rate, % exit and if you track revenue and goals, the page value as well. 8. The exit pages, which is the last page a visitor browses before leaving your website. Pages with a high exit % could be deemed not relevant or valuable. It's a good idea to review these pages and identify the reason behind the visitor choosing to leave. The more accurately you can gauge how visitors are interacting with your website and its content the better understanding you have of how users are experiencing your site and where you need to make improvements to increase conversion and to achieve your business goals. So, if you haven't looked at your site analytics for a while or worse never have looked, then isn't it time to take the step to better understand whats happening on your website. #webdesign #analytics #googleanalytics #website
23.01.2022 We all love choice, well now you can choose the option between dark and light on a website. We've seen it quite often in apps, but now one of the biggest trends emerging in web design is dark mode. It's a colour scheme that uses a dark background and light text elements in the design. Instead of users only being able to view your website in its usual colour scheme they can now hit the toggle between light and dark modes on their devices. In dark mode every convention that ...you've been use to seeing in web design is flipped on its head. Instead of being black, typography is now bright or white. Instead of white backgrounds, they are now dark and instead of the glare of bright screens sending your pupils into overdrive, they are more soothing to look at, especially at night. This web design trend is only going to increase in popularity in 2021. The dark side is looking pretty good right now!! #darkmode #webdesigntrends #webdesigntips
17.01.2022 Throwback Thursday: It was the end of the 20th Century and Amazon’s website looked like this. Welcome to the year 2000. It's also the year they changed their logo to feature the curved arrow from A to Z. #tbt #amazon #webdesign #ThrowbackThursday
31.12.2021 When you develop a website with user experience in mind, ROI (return on investment) can increase significantly. For every dollar invested in user experience, there is a return 100 times greater, as 86% of consumers agree to pay more for a good user experience. The reason for this is simple: by valuing the user experience, you receive important benefits for your brand, such as: 1. Customer loyalty, ... 2. Market differentiation and 3. increased retention and conversion rates. So take into consideration each and every element involved on your website that helps in shaping their experience. The chances of a user returning to use your services again and again will be much higher when they have had a good first experience. Good UX design will integrate market research, strategy, product development, and design and will act as the bridge between you and your visitors. Keep these few tips in mind: 1. Your landing page is your first impression, so make sure you don't over load it with a lot of content with nothing in particular to capture the visitors attention. Creating a good first impression may be as simple as adding some interactive elements, video, a hero image, or incorporating minimalist design with rich white space. NOTE: In web design when we talk about minimalism, we are talking about simplifying the interface by removing unnecessary elements. 2. Have a clean call to action and don't overload visitors with a lot of content to read. We are all very time poor these days, and don't want to sift through a lot of information or pages to find what we are searching for. Use high-quality catchy visuals combined with a happy or natural tone of speech in your copy. The 60%-70% visual and 30%-40% content rule can be used as a guide. 3. These days live chat is a must have on websites. Most visitors expect to have this feature of being able to instantly chat to someone when they have a question. Live chat also has a higher lead capture rate when compared to the standard contact us forms. #uxdesign #userexperience #webdesign
28.12.2021 Kick off the week by throwing on a 'feel-good outfit' and check out this 'in style' web design trend where a little bit of imperfection can add a whole lot of personality. Add a bit of emotion and humanity into your web design by incorporating some hand-drawn design elements. This trend has been around for many years, but in 2020 has grown and will only increase in popularity as we look for more positive fun stuff online. Unique hand-drawn elements can be used to show off ...your brand personality and help you stand out from your competitors. This trend is a move away from perfect flat designs or colourful boxy styles, but there is nothing wrong with getting a little rebellious every now and then. #webdesign #webdesigntrends
