24.01.2022 My favourite so far. Lightweight ripstop material with full satin lining.

23.01.2022 Its a little chilly but its certainly peaceful at this time of night! Perfect time to overhaul this neck rug! You have to wonder sometimes what our horses get up to

22.01.2022 Quick little job - chest strap moving. The rug was too big in the chest. Instead of putting in darts, we were able to move the chest strap up the rug to tighten it up. This is a great option for creating more room in the shoulders to prevent rubbing.

22.01.2022 Neck rug update! For the first week I used it only at night time because I’ll be honest - I’m worried about losing the little bit of mane that was left. This last week I have used it 24/7 (through heat and storms) and took it off for the first time today. I’m super happy! No mane rub or scuffing yet I also am using it on the horse of ours who is the toughest on rugs, also the piggiest, and although it’s a different colour it is holding up really well. 2 weeks - no hiccups! Photo one is when I took the rug off this morning - mane has been untouched for a whole week! Second photo is of piggy.

21.01.2022 We dont just fix horse rugs at Repairem - today we replaced zips in two sets of racing colours and did some inner seam repairs on racing whites. Whatever your repair needs are, contact us to see if we can help.

18.01.2022 We have managed to source some brilliant mesh suitable for ‘bug eye’ type fly masks! It is fly/midge/mozzie proof with excellent visibility and is a two way UV protected material meaning not only will it protect your horses eyes from the harsh sun, it will also stand up to it being in the sun full time for a long time! The second photo is taken from inside the mask that has just been repaired in the first photo! How clear is it?!

18.01.2022 We aren’t limited to just horse rugs and gear! A zip replacement on a yacht cushion - out with the old rusty metal zip and in with the new plastic seaworthy zip!

15.01.2022 Price list as at 10 June 2020. For anything not listed please contact us to see if we can help!

15.01.2022 Something a bit different for us here at Repair’em! Currently working on custom covers for foam cushioning from a yacht! If you’ve got an idea but no means to create it, let us help!

14.01.2022 Gosh! How quickly the time passes by! We’ve been so busy lately, and while it is fantastic, our turn around times have been a little slower. So this week we have welcomed a new ‘repairer’ to the team. Terry is a very experienced Bootsmith with loads of repairing hours under his belt. He is fantastic with gear repairs and has almost mastered Big Bessy and will soon be up and running on Little Bessy - who is much faster and more aggressive than her bigger sister. If you are nee...ding rugs or gear repaired or washed, please get in touch! Please also share our name around if you hear of anyone looking for a repair service. We are not just limited to horse related items - we have repaired camper trailers and canvas items over the last few months. Located on the cusp of the Lockyer Valley at Minden! Pick up and drop off service can be arranged. Let us Repair’em! See more

12.01.2022 A total of 19 items - washed and repaired and ready for another go at life - came in at under $280. The replacement value would be close to $1,000. Let us help you revive your rug collection!

12.01.2022 This rug had seen better days and should now see a few more! A couple of quite messy large rips, a few smaller ones, binding destroyed in 2 places and the leg strap needed attention.

11.01.2022 A pile of rugs that have been washed and repaired, ready for their second turn at life! To replace every rug in this pile would cost close to $800! We repaired them back to strong, useable and clean rugs for less than $200.

10.01.2022 Its very frustrating when you break a leg strap clip and think - Ill just use a different leg strap - then realise you cant replace the strap! It was the case for this rug but we altered the straps so they can be removed/replaced and added new clips so hopefully they dont need to be for a while!

08.01.2022 Got an idea but no equipment to put it together? Send us a message and we may be able to help. Set of identical long reins created this morning as per an ‘idea’. Put to the test and work exactly as hoped!

08.01.2022 This is how we patch your rugs... We start by assessing the damage. Then we tidy up the area by removing any destroyed or unnecessary pieces. After that, well do our best to match the fabric - in this case its a canvas patch for a canvas rug. Cut the patch to size and get to work by covering the area and reinforcing the parts that need reinforcement which in this case was the top of the patch where the rug takes more pressure and around the leg strap hook-on loop. This rug had ripped away from the binding (completely torn, not unstitched) so we added a new line of binding to enable us to reattach the tail flap without changing the shape of the rug.

07.01.2022 Tail flaps are a bit like socks! Once they are separated, they tend to go missing If we dont have a suitable replacement available, we can make one from scratch to suit any rug!

06.01.2022 What is one thing you’d like to see improved on your horses rugs? For me it’s the neck rug. Every combo whether it be hooded or hoodless, rubs my horses manes out on the second half of the neck. Is it because they bunch up there? Does the seam go stiff and create a problem. Do they heat up and cause friction? Are they too heavy? I have a few ideas on what could be improved... so I have created the first prototype of what will hopefully be a non rubbing neck rug. It has no cen...tre seam down the mane yet is still lightly lined, and it is super lightweight at just 300 grams! It is a 98% cotton outer so is lovely and cool yet still has a ripstop weave making it paddock sturdy. It has a Velcro strap at the poll designed to be done up relatively firmly behind the ears to avoid slippage down the neck and lightweight but strong clips strategically placed to maximise airflow. Watch this space in the coming weeks to see how it performs and what adjustments I’ll be making. This will be added to a (now) neckless rug using a heavy duty Lycra gusset. See more

04.01.2022 A couple of tail bags heading out this week! A dual layer 100% cotton and a heavy duty satin lined.

03.01.2022 Here’s the set finished! These 3 pieces make up the sleeping mattress on a yacht. We were given the foam cutouts and had to make the template ourselves. We were asked if we could make it so the smaller cushion would be attached while the set was together to stop it from slipping out of place... But it also had to be easy and quick to separate as it covers an important compartment. We think the covers came up pretty well! Definitely have a bit of an ocean feel about about them!

02.01.2022 Out with the old, ragged, mane damaging lining and in with the new

01.01.2022 It doesnt look like much but this rug needed a new panel made for the back as it had been completely ripped off both sides. We made it nice and strong to support the leg straps, fixed the spine and added a recycled tail flap to complete the job. Some rugs are just too expensive to throw away so if you find yourself with one that you think might not be saveable but hate the thought of turfing it - contact us to see if we can help.
