24.01.2022 Sooo given the circumstances these beautiful ponies were rescued from , seven stallions and mares of various ages , its inevitable that some of these mares would be in foal and guess what?...... WERE HAVING A BABY.. While not an ideal situation for young Tiffany but shes in a loving and responsible home now and we can rest assured both of their futures are secure . Tiffany is the sassy daughter of Sasha of the previous dreadlocks fame . Sasha also had a very young colt who was taken under the wing of the incredible Ariel ( who by the way also looks pregnant ) . We will keep you posted on the progress. Im guessing chestnut, blue eyes with lots of bling but who knows? Grey maybe ?

21.01.2022 Sweet little Tucker .. Aside from the foals he is the youngest of the boys , around two and a half . This little colt was covered in wounds from being chased by the rest of the herd . His new human is doing an amazing job with him and hes coming along in leaps and bounds . Isnt he adorable in his winter woollies?

19.01.2022 Today we took advantage of the final day of lockdown. Baby Barry had his first adventure with Ryan to the outdoor arena. We took mum, Tiffany, for the exercise ...but by the mature behaviour of them both you'd believe he was already weaned. Tiff stood calmly tied to the rail while Barry trotted out and stood like the little Champion he is! He experienced his first poles and stood patiently by the mounting block which is a very important task for a 16.3hh Welsh Sporthorse (don't ever tell him otherwise ) See more

17.01.2022 Another stunner is Cooper. Hes starting to enjoy his new domestic life and time with his human . Cooper was recently gelded and aged around six or seven. It really is heartwarming to see these horses so adored and cared for by their new owners

17.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day to our wonderful mums weve been able to bring out to safety from this hellhole of a property. They are all in wonderful homes with their babies but we know many werent so lucky. We are also aware that many of these horses are affected by the trauma of the situation they have come from . It is just unimaginable to think as a mother to be in a situation where you can barely keep yourself alive let alone your babies but these mums did , all respect to them

12.01.2022 And just to top the weekend off . I am struck by the harsh reality that if this baby had been born on that hellish property he would have died a prolonged and horrible death . In the two weeks before we were able to start to bring horses out two of the six that died were foals . One died beside it’s dead emaciated mother after she had died but the other was born and looked in reasonable health but died a week after birth ( this mare had escaped next door and was in fairly good condition) . Mum Tiffany is a baby herself and I am so greatful that her and her mum Sasha joined Nikki Thurstan’s family where there has been so much dedication and experience to help them through these worrying early days . He’s not out of the woods yet but how lovely to see such great progress

12.01.2022 Id like to bring everyone up to speed with where things are at . We have been able to bring seventeen of these wonderful souls out to safety and into amazing h...omes which is phenomenal. When I say we I mean each and every person who has supported these horses by donating, offering homes , sharing posts and just following and commenting on these posts . When we first began this rescue I could not have dreamed that we would be able get them all out alive let alone find such incredible homes for them but you know what??? Some incredible people moved heaven and earth to make it happen and Im blown away. Sarah McCarthy and Tara Hindmarsh both ventured to that hell hole of a property and got those ponies out amongst the bones , Lynette Gill took wonderful care of two of the boys , Nita Crompton for openings her home and heart so that these mares and foals could rehabilitate before going to their new homes , Leah Manning took care of the legal matters ( and stepped up for the L family) , many of you provided crucial funds , the local support from community groups ( Donna Collins ) and so incredibly the owners put their hands up . Thanks to some very generous donations from some incredible people we now have the funds to geld the stallions who are with their new families. . So where to now??? As you all know the world has gone mad and it has meant the remaining stallion and two mares are still on the property. We intend to bring them out when things settle, especially the stallion or this whole nightmare continues. At this stage it has rained and there is adequate feed , especially as its just the three for now. Negotiations are still ongoing regarding the mares but we will do everything we can to get them out.( whilst I understand we all feel passionate about helping these horses please trust we will move hell and high water to make sure every single horse is safe ) . 07.01.2022 What a remarkable change in this amazing mare . Sasha now lives in a wonderful home with her older filly , Tiffany. Her young colt Phoenix was taken under the wing of Ariel , the grey mare , when she ran out of milk. What an absolutely heartbreaking situation these mums were in . Some werent so lucky and lost their babies and some their lives meaning their foals died too . Thank you to each and every person who has supported these horses to a better life

06.01.2022 Tucker is one of the young colts ( now gelding) taken from the property. He has the most amazing level headed attitude and is starting his preparation to be started under saddle next year . He shares his home with Lolas youngsters Lilly and Larry , also from the property.

05.01.2022 Those of you who have followed the journey of these horses from the start will no doubt remember darling Ariel . She was the first horse to be removed from the property with her foal Ariel and Sashas foal Phoenix . Sasha had started rejecting him as she had run out of milk and still had an older foal with her . Despite running out of milk herself Ariel still look Phoenix under her wing . We have no doubt that if she hadnt been removed that day her and her baby would have di...ed within the next week or so . Another mare had starved to death that week leaving her foal to die shortly after . In fact the three mares with young babies were all in desperate need and were removed just in time The incredible compassion and caring Ariel showed during her darkest hour is nothing short of inspirational . She has captured many hearts and its just so amazing to see them all thrive in their new home See more

04.01.2022 Another mum and her filly , Tilly and Eva . We werent to sure at first but it does appear they are mother and daughter. Poor Tilly was so emaciated that Eva was rarely drinking . They are absolutely adored in their new home. Without amazing homes rescue is impossible. Im so greatful to all of the wonderful experienced homes that have stepped up to give these ponies a future . 03.01.2022 Beautiful Snip came back into our care after his home didnt work out. He has had some handling and been gelded . He is now looking for his new human. Only those with very recent experience with unhandled ( never touched ) horses and a firm commitment will be considered. His new human needs to have excellent skills and be willing to work within his timeframe. In return you will find an super sweet, connected fella with an amazing future in front of him . We estimate hes abo...ut four years old and a little over 14hh . Due to travel restrictions we are firstly seeking interest from SE Queensland as thats where he is located. For more information and to be sent an application please pm me . We are happy to continue to support Snip until the perfect home turns up . Only very experienced homes that we feel is the right fit will be considered . Tiff , his mum , was barely two when he was born and his first few weeks were touch and go . Look at this little legend now . 01.01.2022 L Family Easter Holiday

01.01.2022 Wishing everyone a belated Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. In a couple of weeks we will reach the year mark since we were made aware of these ponies in desperate need. Seventeen ponies have been brought to safely and little Barry makes eighteen. The rescue team thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the support. There are three ponies still on that hideous property and we are still working to get them out . We have hit a wall with the owner but we will not give up on them

01.01.2022 In these uncertain times and changed circumstances it has been tricky to try and rehome lovely Snip but this gorgeous boy deserves his own human and will make a wonderful partner for the right person . When we first found these poor starving horses we werent aware Snip was there at all , it was only going through the photos I saw him walking away . On the property he kept to himself and who can blame him with six other stallions to compete with. Along with the other boys he ...was rehomed but this didnt work out as he was beyond the new owners capabilities and she threatened to send him to the doggers . He is a very sweet boy who seeks leadership and partnership. We have been very fortunate that a wonderful friend agreed to work with him short term but now that short term has become long term and it is now urgent he finds his new human. Snip is about 4-5, around 14hh , has been gelded and will lead , tie and has started some float loading. Having said that he needs a very committed, experienced home and in return this super smart guy will be devoted and give you the opportunity to really learn from him . Please understand that we are looking for the right home for this fella and his new family and as such certain requirements will need to be met for everyones sake , it is nothing personal. pm me if you think you can help this lovely boy. 01.01.2022 This is what happens when a caring community of animal lovers decide to make a difference in the lives of some amazing, deserving ponies. What a relief it must be for this mother to be able to feed her babies. The seventeen ponies removed from the property are all thriving and for that we are forever greatful. Three remain and the time is drawing close for us to go in to advocate for them too. We will keep you updated once we know more .
