20.01.2022 Lets get the facts. "Sexual Violence is any sexual act, attempt to obtain a sexual act, or other act directed against a person’s sexuality using coercion, by any person regardless of their relationship to the victim, in any setting". Sexual violence can happen anywhere, at any time and most sexual assaults are committed by someone the victim knows.

18.01.2022 Gender-based violence involves power imbalances where, most often, men are the perpetrators and women are the victims. It is a term used to describe violence that results in physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering of a partner as a result of social norms, role expectations and unequal power in relationships between genders. #respectme #respect #respectfulrelationships #healthyrelationships #relationships #sexualviolenceprevention #sexualviolence #endsexualviolence #consent #education #prevention #jointheconversation #16days #16days16ways #genderbasedviolence #generationequality #empoweringyoungpeople #youthempowerment #isyourrelationshiprespectful

14.01.2022 Always Once you start, you will notice how easy it is and you might already be doing it without even thinking about it. Can I get the door? Can I have a hug? Would you like to hang out?

11.01.2022 Everyone deserves to be in a healthy relationship where both partners are treated like equals, all the time. Feeling safe, valued and accepted for who you are = equality in relationships
09.01.2022 People often think consent is only important when it comes to sex. But consent is really about choosing to respect personal and emotional boundaries of others, even when those boundaries are different from your own.

02.01.2022 We are not born knowing how to give and receive love. We learn by watching the people we love. We learn through the interactions we have in early relationships. We learn through the media, our experiences and the world around us. Some of what we learn may not reflect healthy relationships, so now is the time to learn how to love respectfully. Come with us on this journey as we explore healthy and respectful relationships. ... Find out more: www.respectme.org.au

02.01.2022 Time to break down gender stereotypes
01.01.2022 There's a misconception that communicating what's okay and not okay in an intimate relationship will is awkward and nerve wracking (and yeah, it might make you feel at little uncomfortable at first) BUT the consequences of not asking and not checking in are much, much worse. Consent is not just for sex either. You need consent for kissing, touching. for EVERY sexual activity. Always check-in #RespectMe #VPG #SexualViolencePrevention #Education #Consent #RefuseToExcuseDisrespect #IsYourRelationshipRespectful
