25.01.2022 Meet Narla This gorgeous Manx Cross girl is now ready to find her forever home Narla is approx 2 years young She has a super sweet personality but also some attitude or do we call it cattitude ... She loves everything on HER terms!! She is very affectionate and loves pats but will let you know when shes had enough. And when she has had enough theres no changing her mind!! She isnt very fond of being carried around but shes so happy to lay beside you and be around you. shes very independent and not a needy cat at all so shes happy to be left by herself, but also very excited when you come home. she has responded well to the other cats here but has primarily been on her own so would best suit a home with no more than one other cat. she is abit of a queen bee so a calmer cat friend wiuld suit her best. she doesnt seem too bothered by our shelter dog but it did take her time to adjust to her. 24.01.2022 ADOPTED Meet Winnie & Daisy Our two gorgeous fluffy teenager Kittens , these sibling are approx 5 months old and are ready to find their forever home .... We will not seperate these two as they absolutely adore each other and have never been apart so a home together they need. They are both very sweet kittens but they are shy initially, not at all nasty just very timid around people they dont know. They would best suit a nice calm home with owners who are patient and happy to help them build their trust. They are very playful and love pats once they trust you. - They need a home without young children - An inside only home They are great around other cats and do no seem bothered around the shelter dog, however would not suit a home with very loud and energetic dogs we dont think. Ruby decided to help other little rescue cats like Kiki and she organised a Crazy Hair Day at her primary school. She has had some health issues in her past and has lost almost all of her teeth but this doesnt hinder her health or eating. She needs to be the only cat in her household and an inside only home. Bella - tabby & white - 9 months old - always looks like shes smiling as for ... Maya - tabby - 12 months old - has constant resting bitch face ( we all know someone that has that ) These girls a quite shy initially, they need a very patient and loving home who can understand them needing to trust before they give out their endless love. They have both been with us at the Penna Shelter for over 5 months because their perfect home just hasnt come by as yet They love other cats and are fine around calm dogs. 20.01.2022 Dear loyal followers, I need to let you know how things are. We are stressed Stressed to the point of exhaustion. Our vet bills are mounting and kitten season is coming. No matter how hard we try, we dont seem to be reaching our goals of our fundraisers We know things are tough out there. Everyone is struggling but as we near kitten season its all getting too much for us. We know we will be in for months of desperate calls for help. The phone will not stop ringing to help... rescue kittens and pregnant mums but at this stage with our vet bills as high as they are, we are really concerned. Weve been closely watching the live thermometer bar its stuck around the $3,000 mark, well short of our $10,000 goal we set. We thought we could get there. We actually need to get there so we are prepared for what is to come. Tonight, were asking you to help us. To help us make sure we have the adequate funding to answer the calls for help. The help the pregnant mum, the help the abandoned kitten, to be there in the wee hours of the morning bottle feeding the kitten that is too scared and injured to feed by themselves. Our team work tirelessly, we are so proud of what they do. However, without the money we wont be able to do what we need to do, especially coming into the busiest time of the year. THE VERY GORGEOUS TOBY IS STILL WAITING FOR A HOME Toby is in Launceston and is the most handsome man! His little ear tufts are the added bonus of his fabulous looks. ... 19.01.2022 JASPER UPDATE Here is our gorgeous boy absolutely thriving So sorry for the delay, we have had such a busy past 3 weeks here we just havnt been able to keep up with social media!!... But I know how much you all have been patiently waiting to hear how Japser is Thankyou again to everyone who donated to this beautiful boy and sent their well wishes, Hes still abit scruffy and moulting like mad but he is such a happy boy , still has alot of attitude but he wouldnt be Jasper without it !! He got the all clear last week from David at The Sandy Bay Holistic Vet and his amazing team , they have taken such great care of him and he is now ready for adoption.. He does need a very special home though that can help him blossom even more Happy Happy happy news as when he first arrived I really didnt think he was going to be ok, this boy knows how to fight the odds!! spoiler allert.... keep watching to see his gorgeous food face at the end

I mean look at them, their totally miserable What a perfect spring day we had here today and our superstar volunteer Cath caught these awsum moments of Carlos ( ginger ) & Mumma ( tabby ) perfectly on camera . ... Another one of our amazing volunteers Shelley has been busy with her friend Sue planting so many plant, bushes and grasses in the sanctuary these past few weeks, Mumma found the Catmint pretty quickly We will be updating our Sponsorship program for our Sanctuary Cats , so if you dont sponsor already and would like to help take care of these beautiful cats in need keep an eye out for more updates And of corse the BIGGEST thankyou to our already Sanctuary Sponsors , you help us give these beautiful souls the life they deserve

16.01.2022 ADOPTED Meet Norton Never before have I met a cat as snuggly as Mr Norton! Though he was a little shy for the first day, he quickly opened and settled right in to his foster home. Norton loves belly rubs, ear scratches, and his own reflection! Hes such a sweet and gentle kitty who wants nothing more than to cuddle up on the couch together and watch the Bachelor (hes seriously developed a fascination with it on the telly!). ... Norton is a gorgeous male tabby, 18 months old He is the sweetest boy who just needs a family who can give him some time to settle in initially Norton isnt overly fond of young children and their loud noises so would be suit a home with older children . he is fine around dogs and cats, although can be a little bossy Norton is currently in foster care so please message us if you would like to meet him
16.01.2022 Meet Baxter This gorgeous adult boy is now ready for adoption!! He is such a sweetheart and so friendly, saldey we dont have any previous history of him but so far at the cattery he has been a delight .... He doesnt seem to bothered by the other cats or dogs but he hasnt bee around them alot. He is a super smooch with a beautiful fluffy coat . 16.01.2022 ADOPTED MEET.....BJ, Beans or Booboo :D These are his gorgeous names given to him by his wonderful foster mummy. This is whats she has to say about him.... He is absolutely fine on his own during the day when Im at work. He also loves being around me now he knows me and will constantly look for pats, loves sitting on my lap, being picked up and being brushed. He has come out of his shell in foster care but is still very scared of people he doesnt know. He is very well mannered, uses his litter tray all the time and gives me a little head bump to say thanks before he eats his food. He is used to living in a quiet house but I think he would get used of other environments if he was given attention. He is a big snuggle monster and very easy to care for. Beans is now ready to find his forever home, He is great around other cats and should settle ok around a calm dog. He is not used to children at all so a home without young children is best for him. 14.01.2022 The things we do Im at the LGH about to have surgery on a finger infected after a bite from an otherwise friendly cat - this boy is not aggressive just very keen for his Felix on Saturday. Despite flushing with peroxide and going straight on antibiotics I ended up at emergency this morning straight from night shift at work. My finger was so swollen it had its own heart beat and felt like it was going to split open. After X-rays and swabs surgery was decided on. Not the... day I planned to have after finishing my last shift at a job Ive worked in for 19 years - it was going to be much more enjoyable lol Im having a stay in hospital for the first time in my life thanks to a hungry, over enthusiastic boy cat and me not getting his brekky quick enough Cat bites can be very nasty - a lesson for us all Lesley See more

She is such a beautiful and loving girl, very chatty and loves to be around you, although shes an independent girl also , so she would be happy to laze around on her own, see a nice sunny spot, thats where she will be Bones needs to be queen of her household she doesnt want any furry friends , well expecially not another cat friend!! 13.01.2022 MEET GORGEOUS XANDER His foster mum says this about him This little guy is ready to find his furever human. Xander has been with me now a month and hes gone from being a very scared little kitten to one who is gaining confidence and loving life. He loves playing with the other cats but hes also quite content to play alone. ... Whilst hes not yet a lap cat he does like to sleep on the bed and is happy to have a little cuddle each morning. Im sure Xander would fit into any loving indoor household and would be very happy to have access to an outdoor enclosure too. He may need some time to again get comfortable in a new home but if his humans are prepared to be patient he will be well worth it. ( please note there are no purebred papers ) approx 2 years old These boys have thrived in their amazing foster home and are now ready to find their forever home together. Both of these guys love cuddling on the couch and chin scratches. Tiger has a touch of curiosity and is always snooping around closed doors and cupboards, and Ben can be found rolling around in the sun. They also love playing with toys and wrestling with each other. Theyre very social kitties who will follow you anywhere around the house, but theyre also happy to be left alone for the day. " We are now taking EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST ONLY at this stage as im sure we will be inundated with loving homes. 07.01.2022 Meet Amber This beautiful young girl, approx 2 years old has been doing so well in her wonderful foster home, When she first arrived with us she was a very scared and unsocial girl, most likely dumped and had never known kindness and love , now with Katie with lots of love and patients she has blossomed into such a beautiful girl. "Amber is a quiet girl with a sweet personality. While initially very shy around new people or in new places, once comfortable Amber is very cud...dly, playful, and affectionate. Amber likes sunbathing, rolling around in piles of blankets, scratches behind her ears, and playing hide-and-seek under the furniture. She dislikes being picked up, preferring to come to you, and is sometimes spooked by loud noises or sudden movements. Amber is polite to other cats, but also happy being on her own, and would be fine as an indoor-only cat. 07.01.2022 Dear Loyal Followers, we need your help tonight. For the past the past two months we have been building a brand new enclosure for our Sanctuary Cats who live here at our Penna Shelter permanently. This brand new space is much calmer for them, with a huge outside enclosure which will be filled with climbing frames and a beautiful garden. It will be their special place they deserve nothing less. Our Sanctuary Cats are the kitties that are not going to be rehomed. They are not... comfortable with humans and despite socialisation, they havent changed their feelings too much. Many have been badly treated or neglected in the past and just cant trust. Our new Sanctuary enclosure assures them safety, care and love on their terms permanently. We have 31 Sanctuary Cats that call us home. Each cat before heading into their new home have had to go to the vet for sedation and full check up, booster vaccination, a couple needed a few teeth out and a clean, but over all they all had wonderful health. We count our blessing each day. We were given a discount from David at the Sandy Bay Vet Clinic who did all of this treatment for us, however we still have the balance of $3,100 to pay off. 05.01.2022 ADOPTED Meet Ginny This beautiful adult girl is ready and waiting for a loving home. ... Ginny is so adorable , she is the most affectionate and Sweetest loving girl. But when she loves you she Loooves , she is super clingy and very needy!! She loves to be around you all the time however I think once she is getting the love and attention she needs she will be fine left on her own , just prepare for extreme loving as soon as you walk in the door Ginny does not get on well with other cats as she becomes very jealous, ideally a home where she is the only pet would be ideal. She would also better suit a home with out young children. 04.01.2022 Jasper Look at him now what a story this boy would have if he could tell us all!! Jasper needs a forever home , a very loving and relaxing home for this gorgeous boy.... He has done so well after his surgery and sickness and he is absolutely glowing. Jasper has no more health issues but he is FIV positive , this isnt a death sentence and he can live a very wonderful and long life. He is a beautiful and affectionate boy however he will tell you when hes had enough, he has such a funny personality but he has abit of a grumpy grandpa personality at times if he wants his own space. Hes still abit of a scruffy boy but that just adds to his character!! He will need an inside only home or a home with an outside enclosure would he perfect. He seems ok around other cats here at the cattery however he has always had his own pen due to his FIV, he isnt very fond of dogs , its taken him a long time to accept our little shelter dog and he still isnt very impressed when she enters his space. We think Jasper would be better in a home without young children just because he can get abit grumpy if hes annoyed too much He loves to smooch all over you and laze around all day , he will make a wonderful companion boy Japser is currently located in our Penna Shelter viewings by appointments only

04.01.2022 Meet Bedford A beautiful black panther boy who has so much love to give a special someone Bedford is so sweet and loving, he waits patiently at his cage door everyday for his turn of snuggles but he would love his own home. He is great around other cats and doesnt seem bothered by our shelter dog. ... At times he can be a little timid initially until he gets to know you but that is so normal for these cats. 01.01.2022 DONATIONS DESPERATELY NEEDED WE NEED THIS SHARED FAR AND WIDE Please help us tonight. Our bank balance is really low and we have so many bills to pay. Vets, food, the normal every day bills the list goes on and we are so very stressed. The cries for help have not stopped. They have gotten louder and louder as the months have passed. ... COVID has taken its toll. Its taken its toll on us. We are stressed, both mentally and physically. This is just what we need to put up with. Its rescue, its why we were put on this planet. Our volunteers are stressed, our foster carers are stressed.. It takes its toll. However, on top of this, we have the financial stress. Donations have dropped off. We used to get a number of big once off donations that kept us going but these have gone. However, our costs have increased. The calls for help, the increase in food requirements for our cats have not decreased and we need you tonight. 100 plus cats in our care and no government funding means we desperately need help. And now.. We cant wait or we will have to start turning cats away. Just in the past 2 weeks we have had 7 dental surgeries, and an entropian surgery. On top of this are the regular Health checks, sedation and vaccination of our 25 sanctuary cats and we have more to book in next month but at this stage there will be no bookings until we can get our bills under control. We just cant survive otherwise. It pains us so much but as we near the end of the month we must clear our bills. Our cats and kittens are crying out for our love and we cant let them down.
