11.01.2022 Ducks are wise. Sent to me by my dear Teacher, Ajahn Brahm, today. I can hear him in the duck! (He also read it out to me over the phone ) For anyone wonderin...g (or worrying): Ajahn and all those at both monastic communities, Dhammasara and Bodhinyana are very well and well-fed. Ajahn says they are still getting plenty of food. The visitors come, unload the car and then the person on duty puts the food offering into monastery containers. Ajahn comes outside and gives a blessing to the donors of the meal (at a safe distance I'm assured), before they drive out again- like a drive-through, he says. Anyone who has been to Bodhinyana will know that the lane into that monastery circles in a loop to the dining hall and back out again, so it is tailor made for this situation! WA itself is locked down, even by region, so noone from Perth can even travel down to Albany (to Bodhinyana Great Southern Monastery), for example. The cases in WA are few and are increasing only minimally, as lockdown started early, unlike here in poor old Blighty Every time I talk to Ajahn and ask how he is he says emphatically "EXCELLENT," which means our Beloved and Revered Teacher is highly appreciating and blissing out during the extra meditation time he is now getting due to his overseas travels having been curtailed. Such "rest" time couldn't be more highly deserved. And, I suggest, good for the world.
