19.01.2022 Feeling #stuck? #Overwhelmed? Or #exhausted? As human beings, we would be hard-pressed to find someone who hasn’t experienced some kind of traumatic event. What determines how a trauma affects us is not the severity of the trauma itself, but the physiological, emotional, environmental, nutritional & social resources we have to overcome it.... When we experience a stress that overwhelms the body’s capacity, our body’s natural trauma response is not able to achieve completion. When this happens, this energy remains trapped in the nervous system. If the trauma is significant enough, sustained over a period of time, or through repeated exposure, enough damage can occur to the nervous system that the body’s functioning can become impaired. Unresolved trauma can also manifest as repetitive negative behaviour patterns, where a person continually ends up in the same kinds of situations or relationships, where core wounding is constantly activated, and negative core beliefs are confirmed. These may sound like: I’m not good enough. I can’t do anything right. I always have to be the one who . I’m not worthy. Nobody cares. I’m such a lazy . But you don’t have to stay here! Through targeted #kinesiology balances, we can work together to help your body release unresolved patterning, allowing you to freely move forward in your life feeling happier, healthier and truly yourself. Contact me, Rochelle, and together, we can help you to achieve a greater quality of life.
16.01.2022 You are not your thoughts. Have you paid attention to the whispers in your head? What do they say? "I'm not good enough", "it's all too hard" or "what's the point"...... Though these stories can get pretty loud, they are only a small part of your incredibly complex human self, and you can learn to acknowledge them without being overcome. If you are #struggling or feeling #overwhelmed, I can help. Call 0412 720 561 to book your appointment. #mentalhealthsupport #youaredoingreallywellkeepgoing
15.01.2022 Is your gut health impacting your mental health? If you’re consistently feeling stressed, anxious, depressed or somewhat lacking in the motivation or energy department, it might be time to check in with your body and feel what’s going on in there. Those tiny microbes living in your gut play an important role in supporting your mental and emotional wellbeing, and they do this through the production of metabolites. ... Metabolites are the by-products of microbial fermentation. Basically, those cool little dudes take small particles of digested food and feed on it. In return, they produce metabolites. Metabolites produced from fibre (plants) are typically highly beneficial compounds such as short chain fatty acids (acetate, proprionate & butyrate) and some gases. Short chain fatty acids feed and nourish the cells that make up your intestinal wall. Metabolites produced from animal protein are a bit more varied, some are beneficial, while others can promote inflammation and be not so beneficial. Short chain fatty acids, amino acids, neurotransmitters, ammonia, hydrogen sulphide, trimethylamine and indole are some of these. The types of critters you have living inside your gut will determine the type of metabolites being produced. The types of foods you eat (you see where I’m going, yea?) will determine the types of critters that flourish in your lovely little gut garden, as not all microbes feed on the same fuel sources. These metabolites are then absorbed into your body via the bloodstream, lymphatic system or directly to your brain via the vagus nerve. So it makes sense how they can have such a huge impact on your health! As with most things to do with health, it all comes down to BALANCE. Your body is designed to house a balance of beneficial and non-beneficial microorganisms, because when kept in check, those non-beneficial metabolites can be supportive of a healthy body and mind. Much in the same way that a glass of vino with dinner is an awesome thing but the whole bottle, not so much! Other key players that can affect this delicate balance include medications, stress, trauma, exercise, ageing and genetics. If you feel you are in need of some extra support to make changes in your emotional and mental wellbeing, call Rochelle on 0412 720 561 to discuss the testing and treatment options available to you. Not ok, is not good enough.
