17.01.2022 Hello community members, it has been sometime since this page has been updated, so let me take this opportunity to invite you all to visit the historic horse changing station in Old Reynella. Extended opening hours- Thursday and Friday, 10am till 1 pm. We have a bric and brac stall, offering high quality donated items at bargain prices for you to purchase in return for a donation. The Horse Changing Station has seen 742 people pass through the doors, since the bric and brac enterprise began in February 2019. Volunteer numbers have increased as more people are interested in being part of the RBTA and its vision. Drop in for a friendly chat, cuppa and a place to rest your feet, before heading home after a day shopping. Public toilet nearby and a bus stop out the front of the Changing Station. See you soon!!!
17.01.2022 Hi Everyone, The planning meeting on the 20th of july, went well. Discussion about the date to hold event was moved to November 2021, due to other significant festivals in sept and oct. Interested stakeholders to consult their own committees and bring feedback to the next meeting on Monday 17th August. Yes, these are monthly meetings, not fortnightly(as my previous post suggests). 7pm at the sporting complex, Oval Road, Old Reynella.
15.01.2022 Hi all community members. It saddens me to see the vandalism taking place on the western doors of the old horse changing station. The person responsible is happy to sign their name to their graffiti. The rbta are wanting to preserve this beautifully restored building and re open it to the community, however the behaviour of an ex member is choosing to block the association in fulfilling its objectives. We shall return as the association has been in operation since 1998, and unlike the graffiti artist, we have plenty of time to implement the needs of the community.
10.01.2022 FOR ATTENTION OF RURAL RESIDENTS; THIS HAS BEEN SENT TO ME FOR COMMUNITY BENEFIT OF BEING AWARE not for misrepresentation -SANDRA BROWN IMPORTANT INFORMATION SA Country Fire Service (CFS) have declared a Total Fire Ban throughout the state today (Tuesday 19 November). This comes ahead of the forecast of Catastrophic and Extreme fire danger ratings in several parts of South Australia tomorrow (Wednesday 20 November) which is anticipated to be a very hot and windy day.... Accordingly, non-essential services will be affected within the relevant Fire Ban District, on the days that have been declared catastrophic for the Mt Lofty Fire Ban District or Adelaide Metropolitan District under the national Fire Danger Rating system. As a result, non-essential services in high-risk zones will be affected tomorrow. These include: - kerbside bin collection (see notes below) - closure of our Willunga Golf Course and Golf Shop - closure of community centres in high risk zones - cancellation of any scheduled events in high risk zones. - possible closure of the Willunga Library and Aldinga Library (to be confirmed tomorrow) Kerbside Bin Collection For the information of affected residents, information has been posted on council’s Facebook page advising resident to ensure they put their bins out the night before, as our drivers will be commencing work at 5:30am in the morning. Due to the forecast of catastrophic and extreme fire danger on Wednesday 20 November, kerbside collection in the Mt Lofty Fire Zone area will be picked up first thing tomorrow morning with all available resources starting the day there with the aim to move out of the zone as early as possible. Collections scheduled in the Adelaide Metro Fire Zone will have bins collected when the rounds in the high risk zone are completed. If your bin is not collected as scheduled on Wednesday, please contact Customer Relations on 8384 0666 so that we can arrange a collection time. Where services are affected, they will recommence as soon as possible after the fire danger conditions reduce. We apologise for any inconvenience. 08.01.2022 Hi everyone, just an update. The rbta is no longer at the historic horse changing station. All of our community activities have ceased at this venue. The association wishes to thank the community for the ongoing support you showed us. Once the new world order comes into effect after this virus epidemic has passed, the rbta will continue with its community engagement programs. Please take no notice of the propaganda written by an ex member of the association. The facts do not support his claims. I believe he is selling sour grapes for $4 a kilo. He apparently has plenty in stock. Stay safe and well, and we shall see you all again soon.
07.01.2022 Lets create a post-covid community with photos to inspire us all to shop locally and embrace the amazing culture of our unique township. I have added some familiar sites around town, why not tag yourself standing at these places and share your experiences with other locals.
06.01.2022 Great news......the RBTA is still alive and gaining momenteum. A slight name change, and new committee found to continue forward with bringing fresh ideas and community arts to the township. We survived covid lockdown in 2020. It is amazing what can be done for the community when good people come on board. Thank you to all the past members of the association. What a fantastic time it is to be ALIVE!!!!
