24.01.2022 NAIDOC 2020 has looked different this year due to COVID.... but our pride in our Indigenous community remains as strong as ever! Happy NAIDOC Week to all family..., community, elders and future leaders who are represented in our photo with Aunty Jess below. This photo says it all. A proud moment of coming together to recognise, respect and honour country and family! This year's theme "Always Was, Always Will Be" speaks to the long overdue recognition that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. If you haven’t already, head along to the NAIDOC website or read the Uluru Statement from the Heart for more information. NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. It’s about seeing, hearing and learning the First Nations’ 65,000+ year history of this country - which is Australian history. We want all Australians to celebrate that we have the oldest continuing cultures on the planet and to recognise that our sovereignty was never ceded. Always Was, Always Will Be. Statement written by NAIDOC for 2020 NAIDOC theme "Always was, Always will be"

18.01.2022 We had a wonderful working bee today in our outdoor space! Perfect weather, and COVID safe, it was wonderful to be outside with friends and working together to improve the outdoor areas. There was weeding, digging, mulching, mowing, and painting. Masked up, restricted numbers, and social distanced, it was a great day! We are incredibly thankful to everyone who gave up their time today to help us out

06.01.2022 For those frequenting the Bell Street and St Georges Road, Preston intersection please note that we are supporting the Department of Health and Human Services... (DHHS) with a new COVID-19 testing site at the Darebin Arts Centre. This site will continue to provide safe and accessible drive-through testing to the Darebin community, now that the Northlands site is no longer operating. The Darebin Arts Centre site will initially be providing testing to the community seven days a week from 9-5pm, from Sunday 8 November. As a result of having an accessible testing site, we can be confident that as the state government move to ease restrictions into the future, we will see rapidly testing, tracing and management of any potential outbreaks. We ask that you be patient on the testing site, and ensure those driving to the location are able to access it safely.
