24.01.2022 I was very honoured to have received this award at our college presentation evening on Friday 22 November 2019.
20.01.2022 Whether you are patting a white tiger in a zoo or coming across wild animals unexpectedly in Africa, a held stress memory from a past event can be triggered by a current situation. The brain does not differentiate between fact and imagination, so recalling a stressful situation can cause the same bodily responses to occur as when the event first took place. Sometimes a small trigger in present time can cause us to make disproportionate emotional responses.... In my practice I use techniques that can bypass the extreme forms of this response, which allows you to revisit the situation safely with a new creative awareness. You can free yourself from re-enacting the event and defuse your bodies response to it.
17.01.2022 The expectations we place on ourselves to "Get life right" can become burdensome. We try to live up to others' expectations, set a good example for our kids, care about the correct issues and eat the foods that match our beliefs so people will see we're not hypocrites. We get so caught up in carrying this weight of expectation that slowly over time our bodies begin to look as if we are carrying a burden. Our neck and shoulders are stiff and sore, our back aches, our knees and... feet let us know constantly that the load is too great. Our bodies talk to us like this, giving us clues and nudges that something must change. A Kinesiologist can ease these physical aches and pains. If you're willing, the Kinesiologist can work with you at a deeper level that allows you to find the emotional component of these burdens. Aches and pains may be just aches and pains but there may also be a root cause buried with some past unprocessed emotion. See more
13.01.2022 Great authors or film makers create epic stories which detail the life of a simple, ordinary person who finds themselves on an extraordinary journey. They are forced, often unwillingly, to face seemingly insurmountable challenges they would never dream they would face, and find themselves knocked down by these things time and again. Eventually they face the challenge one last time when they think they have no more resources to fight with and they overcome the challenge, they ...slay the dragon. They are never the same person again. This type of story line is called "The hero's journey". Every person on this planet is on one. The reason I practise kinesiology is to help people recognize their own hero's journey and to encourage them to stand up just one more time to reach their desired goal. If this post or previous posts have sparked a desire in you to pursue these matters further, please feel free to contact me.
12.01.2022 This is a photo of the time out room built for be the members of a village on Lihir Island PNG. If a person, be they male, female, young or old are so stressed that they can't control themselves they are sent to this room. They can not come down until it is decided by the rest of the community that they can rejoin village life. When we experience stress, be it emotional, physical, mental or spiritual, our bodies go through a series of biochemical changes of varying intensity ...depending on the severity of that stress. These biochemical changes can be held and buried by our bodies. We may forget an individual stressful incident but our body stores this information and remembers the stress every time we encounter a similar situation. The result is that we are stressed almost continually. A Kinesiologist can find these stressors using a simple technique of muscle monitoring. Combining western techniques with eastern wisdom in a holistic approach to health, we can get to the root cause of this stress and find the best solution for you.
12.01.2022 Animals are very attracted to energy healing. There are cancer hospices, aged care facilities and a multitude of other places that include some form of animal visitation to complement the other therapies offered to the clients. Patting a cat can lower blood pressure and assist people with PTSD. Our cat loves to muscle in on a session, taking command of whatever part of the table that suit his needs. If your lucky he may visit you when you visit me.
09.01.2022 Just a simple little diagram to show a few of the ways stress can effect you.
07.01.2022 What is your diet? Your diet is more than the food and drink you consume. Your body is fed by all your sense organs as well as your nutrition. Your skin feeds you information about your environment, is it too hot, too cold, is this object sharp or blunt etc. Your eyes feed you visual information and your ears feed you auditory information and so on. All this input together with the nourishment you take feeds your body, mind and soul. Sometimes these things cause your body str...ess or upset, and this can be reflected in our language. We may say "i can't stomach seeing cruelty to animals!" We may find that foods we once could tolerate now disagree with us. We may or may not be able to pinpoint which particular food that is. A Kinesiologist can help you to discover what part of your diet is not working in your best interest and find the ways to change this for the better. See more
