04.04.2022 We are very lucky to have Joe from Rhythm Fun teaching the 1/2s all about the history of percussion instruments from around the world in their Music sessions this week.

10.03.2022 After my sessions at Kalinda yesterday, I've had a few enquiries about drum lessons - so good to see that my evil plan is working and we drummers will be taking over the world! I am now going to run small drum lesson/percussion workshops next term at Yarrunga Community Centre in Croydon Hills for 5 - 8 year old budding drummers. So far, I have 2 keen students but it would be great to get at least 5 in the group so we can be really noisy and have lots of fun. At this stage, they will run Tues afternoons around 4pm and it will cost $15 for a one hour session. The kids will learn to play drums on the drum kit as well as getting involved in some group percussion activities. If you know of anyone who might be interested, I'd love to hear from you. 21.01.2022 During my sessions, I ask the kids if they have any questions. The best question I've had in response to this was from a cute little girl in a 4 year old kinder group whose question was, "Did you know I ate all my corn last night?" :)

18.01.2022 What a great year so far! Almost booked out for the year and have loved every minute of it! I have added more instruments and 'dad jokes' to my repertoire and besides my own family (who have to live with me every day), the new additions have proved a big hit. Thanks to all of you who have been so supportive of Rhythm Fun.

15.01.2022 I got the best email I've ever gotten today. This is why I love what I do... Hi joe, my name is (removed) and my son (removed) participated in your sessions at greenhills pre school a couple of weeks ago. While (my son) has previously had an interest in drums and his dad is in a rock band, your sessions have sparked something wonderful in him that I had to tell you about. The information (my son) recalls from your visit about rhythm and tempo and the drum names is nothing li...ke he has ever done before. And (my son) now drums on everything and anything he can find including the car, my shoulders and legs, light poles etc!! And he is practising every day in his own way. So I just wanted to say thank you and well done. The way you communicated with the children is obviously effective and engaging and contagious! You have given (my son) the gift of learning about percussion and for that I am very grateful. I only wish I had of been there to see you and him in action! So thank you once again. See more

09.01.2022 After a break from Rhythm Fun sessions over the school holidays, I started the term by working with 5 Grade 1/2 classes at Kalinda Primary School. I was able to trial some new ideas and ran some drum circles with the kids. The kids loved them! Can't wait to get back there on Thursday to work with the Preps again.

01.01.2022 As part of my sessions, I ask the kids if they can think of a song they all know that we can play along to. The funniest request so far from a very enthusiastic 4 year old was "Beastie Boys"!
