24.01.2022 The Year 10 Urban Challenge was certainly a challenge with COVID safe adjustments. Cash was replaced with prepaid debit cards, instead of buses and trains there was quite a lot of walking and sleeping on Cockatoo Island amongst the seagulls was an amazing and noisy experience! Team challenges ranged from dragon boating, solving riddles and finding clues, a silent disco and preparing meals for the homeless. #lifeatrj #RJCamp #RJSecondary #RJLearning #RJExperience

22.01.2022 Year 11 Drama had the fantastic experience of working with Year 11 Photography students. They collaborated to film scenes from a play they are studying called Ruby Moon. The focus has been the Elements of Production which includes lighting, sound, set design, costume design and promotional material for theatrical productions. Year 11 Photography students set up their cameras, lighting and green screen to film the students and will go away to edit in backdrops and sound design elements. Thanks to Miss Ho who initiated the collaboration and guided her Photography students throughout the process. It was a new initiative and certainly something we will keep for future Year 11 students.

19.01.2022 Oakhurst K-2 students and teachers enjoyed their K-2 Mini-Athletics afternoon. Students participated in a range of events that included beanbags, balls, targets, floppy discus mats, golfballs and spoons, hoops and foam turbo javelins. We finished with running races for each grade. It was great to see students wearing their House colours and participating with confidence as they displayed teamwork, sportsmanship and physical skills! 02.01.2022 Oakhurst Kindergarten set out for their first ever excursion to Featherdale Wildlife Park. The bus trip was very exciting and we loved seeing the bridges, trucks and other cars! Once we arrived, we were amazed at how many different types of animals there were. We loved the Tasmanian Devil, we marveled at the size of the eagles and we giggled at the penguin antics as they splashed about. In our wildlife show, we got to meet lots of different cuddly animals, as well as some slightly scary ones!
