16.01.2022 We choose to honour Remembrance Day to commemorate the sacrifice of those who fought for our freedom, and also to remember the huge cost of war and the devastation that conflict of any kind can bring to humanity. We are reminded of our own human tendencies to conflict and how individual peace and world peace are ideals we can all work toward. In the Bible Jesus is known by many names, including as the Prince of Peace. Jesus shows us that true peace is not possible through hum...an means because we are all capable of selfishness. However, peace is the ultimate gift of God through Jesus, and with God’s help we can work towards peace in ourselves and in the world. 02.01.2022 On Wednesday 2 December, selected students from Years 7-9 travelled to Gap Road, Alstonville for our 4th annual inter school cricket match against Summerland Christian College. After winning the toss and electing to bat, openers Sam and Anthony got away to a great start, with Anthony retiring on 20 runs, and Sam eventually getting out for 11. Another notable mention with the bat was Noah, who was eventually run out for 13. Maryssa and James also made handy contributions. Rich...mond were 8/84 from their 20 overs. Summerland, requiring over 4 runs per over, got off to a shaky start. Opening bowler, Harry, took 2 early wickets, dismissing both opening batsmen with faint snicks of the bat which were caught superbly by wicket keeper, Levi. Harry finished with figures of 2/8 off 3 overs. Bradley, Levi, Anthony, Sam and James also took wickets. Summerland finished on 8/53 from their 20 overs. Richmond retained the perpetual trophy, winning the match by 31 runs. I was super proud of the way our students represented the school and their great ongoing sportsmanship during this annual event. It was also pleasing to see some players learn a lot, as this was the first game for a few of them. Special mention also to Mrs Scott for scoring! Mr Gilmore
01.01.2022 Secondary students enjoying the beauty of Boulders Beach today for elective sport! #rccelectivesport #learningtherccway #enjoylearning #enjoylife
