18.01.2022 We are very proud to announce that the Richmond Players Committee has unanimously agreed to name Sydna Turner a Life Member of Richmond Players. Sydna has been involved in 31 of our productions, beginning with "Ma Baker's Tonic" in 2000. She has generously served on the Committee over a period of nine years as a General Member and Minutes Secretary. She is at home in comedic or dramatic roles, and has brought some truly memorable characters to life: from deranged escapees fro...m aged-care facilities and confused inmates of a mental asylum to a genie from a faraway land and a cloistered nun. She has also been involved in our musicals, as a singer or in whatever capacity she's called upon. Sydna is equally gracious in playing supportive roles off-stage: be it as a prompt, understudy or as part of the costume team. She has also provided some absolutely wonderful culinary additions to the afternoon teas and will always be one of the first to volunteer for any out-of-the-ordinary type of event such as a re-enactment or picnic. Over the years Sydna has been a grandmother/mother to all who have been blessed to know and perform with her. She has an endlessly generous heart, is constantly patient and supportive, and never has a bad word to say about anyone. She truly embodies the spirit of Richmond Players and epitomises the character of what a life member should be. We look forward to officially conferring upon her this life membership at the next Annual General Meeting. #RichmondPlayers #LifeMember

07.01.2022 AN UPDATE ABOUT 'ALLO 'ALLO: The health and safety of our audiences and performers is of the utmost importance to us.The current Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation has been rapidly evolving. As you would no doubt be aware, the Government has recently released advice to limit non-essential social gatherings to fewer than 500 people and to implement social distancing measures. While we perform in a relatively small theatre with the capacity of far less than 500, we feel it is our... civic duty to do what we can to protect the health and wellbeing of our community. Therefore we have made the difficult decision to postpone our production of 'Allo, 'Allo! until August. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We are very proud of the terrific show that our talented cast and crew have prepared, and we hope that our current ticket-holders will be supportive of our decision and carry across their bookings to our new timeframe. We will shortly contact all ticket-holders in relation to the new dates, to give them the opportunity to transfer their bookings to these new dates or arrange refunds. Thank you for your understanding and your continued support of Richmond Players and live theatre.
