16.01.2022 The annual School Satisfaction Survey for parents is currently being conducted across Tasmanian Government schools. The survey provides an opportunity for parents to give important feedback on what our school does well and where we can improve. All responses are secure and anonymous. All parents received a letter earlier this week with the survey access details. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey - the feedback you provide is highly valued and gives us important insights for future planning. The survey closes on Friday 4th September. Please contact our office for any assistance needed to access the survey. Thank you.

14.01.2022 Dear Families, Commercial Road is very busy at the start and end of each school day. Please do not park over residents' driveways when dropping off/picking up children. We also ask that drivers follow Commercial Road around the loop to Blair Street, rather than using our car park as a turning space, as we have children entering and exiting the school through the car park area. Thank you for your help!

13.01.2022 Another tip for National eSmart Week.

13.01.2022 Book Week is next week!! (Postponed from earlier in the year.) We will not be having a parade this year, due to COVID-19 restrictions. Instead, children may come to school in their pyjamas next Tuesday 20th October, to celebrate the joys of reading & relaxing. Children may bring along a favourite book. Staff will be reading to buddy classes. Happy Reading.

11.01.2022 Dear Richmond Primary community, It is with both excitement and a tinge of sadness that I alert you to the news that I have been successful in winning the Acting Principal role at Dodges Ferry Primary for term one and two next year. I would like to thank all students, parents, staff and the wider community for the wonderful opportunity I had to work in partnership with you all during my five years at RPS.... I am pleased to announce that Andrea Long will be the Acting Principal in my absence and I know that you will be in good hands. Having worked alongside Andrea in the School Improvement Leader role, I can assure you she is an outstanding leader, student and community focused and dedicated to ensuring positive outcomes for all students, both in the academic realm and from the perspective of growing and nurturing positive citizens for the future. I wish the entire Richmond Primary community a happy and safe holiday break and a very Merry Christmas. Warm regards Matt Kenny

05.01.2022 School reports - whether they're proudly shared, hidden away, or find a home in the bottom of a school bag - are really important for showing you how your child... is progressing at school. We're undertaking a review of how we process and deliver student reports and we want your input! Would you prefer to receive reports online? Would you like more frequent feedback? Less frequent feedback? We'd love to know. The 'Review into Reporting to Families' will provide recommendations for our reporting system so that it continues to meet the needs of learners, families and schools in the most meaningful ways. Parents and carers can have their say by completing the survey before 13 November at http://ow.ly/oVaN50BQKlg For more information about the review visit https://www.education.tas.gov.au//review-into-reporting-t/

05.01.2022 This week's newsletter. Please note the slight adjustment to school times from the beginning of Term 3.

05.01.2022 Dear parents and carers, Please be advised that there have been some changes to the Term 1 school holiday dates. The end date for Term 1, 2021, has been brought forward to allow the school holiday period to commence immediately following Easter Tuesday. This means that students will not have to return to school for three days between Easter break and Term 1 school holidays, which was previously the case. The overarching reason behind this decision is to allow for greater le...arning continuity for students. The new arrangements are as follows: Wednesday 31 March End of Term 1 (K-10) Thursday 1 April End of Term 1 (11 and 12) Friday 2 April Tues 6 April Easter break Wed 7 April Tues 20 April Term 1 holidays (2 weeks) Wed 21 April Term 2 commences With the school holidays falling directly after Easter, it will be an ideal time for your family to take advantage of the extended holiday period! All Term dates for 2021 can be found on the Department of Education website at www.education.tas.gov.au/about-/term-dates/term-dates-2021/

05.01.2022 Information from the Department of Education - We are aware of the inappropriate video that has been circulating on social media recently. We have been following the Office of the eSafety Commissioner advice and would like to share their post below to provide extra support to our communities.

04.01.2022 Hello everyone! I hope you have all had a relaxing and safe holiday. It has been great to hear about many people enjoying our beautiful state as well as having fun with family activities. We are all looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday 21st July (Monday 20th is a Professional Learning Day for staff). A reminder that our school times have changed slightly - the school day will be 8:50am to 2:50pm. This does not affect any bus travel arrangements. Supervision for stude...nts is from 8:30am until 2:50pm (and until the buses leave for bus students). Our playground remains closed after 2:50pm. Also a reminder that Launching into Learning resumes on Wednesday 22nd July, 9:15am -10:15am in our Kindergarten area. Parents/carers will be required to complete a health screening form, to observe physical distancing requirements and to use the supplied hand sanitiser. Finally, a reminder that the Old School House (our Library) is currently undergoing repairs to the roof and is out-of-bounds, hopefully for only a couple of weeks. The gate at the front of the building and the side path are also out of use until the repairs are complete. We are looking forward to a fantastic, settled Term 3 - have a wonderful weekend and see you all on Tuesday! Susan Jeffery Acting Principal

02.01.2022 Footy Colours Day yesterday - so much fun. Thank you to our Student Leaders for organising a fantastic range of activities throughout the day.
