24.01.2022 It's an ambitious dream Tennis champion Pat Rafter assists with the first step of creating a koala corridor that stretches from Bangalow to the Clarence, ...out to Tenterfield and back through the Lismore LGA. It will take many millions of trees and volunteer hours but Bangalow Koalas is confident they'll ace it especially with a little star power like Pat Rafter to encourage more volunteers and landholders to sign up.
21.01.2022 This State Government should be replanting riverbanks along Richmond Rivers Catchment - all 222kms. This would benefit Koalas. Instead they are logging habitat https://www.nature.org.au//bushfire-emergency-save-forest/
21.01.2022 What is happening to our ecosystems?
20.01.2022 Erosion , pollution , sediment , Macca farmers , cows in rivers , carp, eminent Koala extinction, archaic farming practices, a lawless river system spanning 222kms washing away into Ballina. Be great if they fixed our northern rivers systems .
20.01.2022 Rivers ravaged everywhere ....
19.01.2022 CONCERNING FORMAL CLOSURE LEGISLATION - PLEASE READ AND ACT NOW! The closure legislation should be deeply troubling for anyone in this area who cares about the ...future. People must realise that any removal of railway lines is permanent. These tracks will never be put back if they are ripped up, and formally closed sections of rail corridor will never be reinstated. People must realise that if this bill is successful, the status of nominated sections of track will cease to exist as a rail corridor. The track will be removed, and this will not be undone. People must realise this a strategic plan to systematically obstruct the return of rail to this area. The ‘nowhere to nowhere’ Casino to Bentley RT plan is evidence enough of this. Obviously no tourist sees Bentley paddocks as a destination. But it is perfect as a means of cutting the line off, especially the City of Lismore and tourist hotspot of Byron Bay, from the rail mainline between Sydney and Brisbane (the Murwillumbah line junction with this is presently at Casino). Further, the Murwillumbah to Crabbes Creek proposal, another ‘nowhere’ terminus, could be seen to have more interest in cutting the line back from the QLD border and Gold Coast Airport than anything else. The subclause placing no restriction on lease arrangements is also very interesting. This means that any part of the land can be leased to anybody seemingly for whatever purpose, meaning the people behind the rail trail group can still profit off of the land without the backlash associated with selling the land. It must also be remembered that under the legislation, status of nominated sections as a rail corridor ceases to exist, hence potential lease arrangements are not comparable to the current Byron Bay Solar Train non-exclusive lease of the rail corridor in Byron. Anyone who believes in the continued existence of rail infrastructure and the rail corridor for future benefit of our area must act now. For the future and for the vision of having passenger rail services carrying locals and tourists with cycleways alongside, we must act now. We cannot allow the permanent takeover of the rail corridor for an extremely questionable, limited and short-sighted rail trail proposal that permanently condemns this region to a future with no rail services. The permanent destruction of railway infrastructure and takeover of lands for exclusive use as a rail trail cannot be allowed to happen. If successful, it will be the remembered in history as one of the worst outcomes for this region, where short-sightedness and agenda was allowed to take priority over transportation needs both now and into the future. We need each and every person reading this to take action now. Attached is a photo of Parliamentarian's email addresses and phone numbers. We advise people BOTH email and RING Parliamentarians prior to September 20, when the legislation is presented again.
19.01.2022 Koala in Frankston South last night. This is a great example of how vulnerable koalas are to vehicles strikes. Late at night their grey fur blends into the road... and their little legs are not the fastest. This video was filmed again around Sweetwater Creek where we had some koala sightings lately. Please take care and thanks Scott for this great video. #koalas #saveourkoalas #australia #koalaconservation #wildlife #morningtonpeninsula #mornpenbiodiversity #backyardbiodiversity See more

13.01.2022 Great for riverbanks where erosion is a problem .
13.01.2022 This Dutch school takes kids out trash hunting and teaches children all about plastic pollution, and what can be done about it. All schools should do the same. The Plastic Soup Foundation created this awesome teaching program.
