21.01.2022 Alright, it has been crazy times everywhere but wanted to say it has been an honour and a pleasure to be asked to be a judge in this year's The Independent Musi...c Awards out of New York ...it involved a load of people I would have liked to have been locked in a room with...but hey, lucky them... I still had the pleasure of listening to some brilliant independent music and if anyone still thinks things were better years ago, well, in my view at least, you are just plain wrong - you were wrong before anyway, but... the winners have been announced here: See more

18.01.2022 Check it folks if you are in the mood...Julien Poulson, Helen Cattanach, Rob Lastdrager and myself were in a high-voltage, surfish, punkish, crazy rockish band called Stiff Kittens a while back there ...was a total blast and there's some of this on the radio show...shot of us here near St Kilda church from what I remember by Mr Tony Mott

17.01.2022 THE POET SHOW TONIGHT IS NOW CANCELLED The big blobs announced changes this afternoon to crowd restrictions in public places mean that even this relatively sm...all show cant go ahead tonight - bad news for us; bad news for Melbournes finest bar The Drunken Poet; big win for ongoing uncertainty. You cant help but think that some leadership here from the start of this global problem would have got rid of this kind of ongoing daily uncertainty and feeling of ill will. The announcement today is probably the right decision but its one that should have been made from the start - or at least a fortnight ago - before the country lost its marbles. But what we got was what we should have been expecting from the bluntest tool in the shed. Last minute everything - lets push the big decisions onto someone else and only do something right at the last moment when we cant avoid it. So everything continues to change by the day, and no one really knows what is going on. For us, its not great but we will survive for sure - but for the bars such as the Drunken Poet, the ones that truly support the local music scene, and all the small businesses like them, its just been a total unworkable shit storm of crapness. These are the places that define our city - we cant lose them. At some stage we will all need to rally round and make sure that when this all finally passes, as it will, that we havent lost the people and the places that make this city great.

11.01.2022 Nice to get a review for 'Letter to my Replacement' in this fine UK e-zine - thanks Mr Tom Hilton! Aldora Britain Records - AB Records Letter to My Replacement (Whoever That My Be) by Rich Webb... Rich Webb opens this week’s collection with a bittersweet ode to a former lover and his past memories with that particular person. It is a stunningly honest and bare take on human emotions at their most vulnerable. Check out zine here: Bit.ly/AldoraBritainRecordsIssue41
