While the club is unable to announce pre-season and start dates for the season at this point it will assist us for planning purposes to form a view of how many teams we may be able to field in Season 20/21. Bring a mate down for a fun season of one day games in the summer sun!!! ... https://docs.google.com//14HyEspHBNL7zwAcJ8RWT-oPdnR0/edit

24.01.2022 SENIOR CRICKET RESULTS ROUND 4 Johnstone Shield. Riddell 194 defeated St Anthonys 112 We won the toss and batted first on a great day for cricket. The opening pair of Dan Nolan (49 and Harry Fisher (48) set the day up well. While the run rate was not high, to lose the first wicket in the 28th over was a fantastic effort and set us up to move the score along for the last 10 overs and finish on 194. Admittedly it helps when Extra’s (24) is the 3rd top score. We knocked ...over their openers early and tight bowling saw regularly wickets fall to have them all out for 104 in the 25th over though would have been over earlier if Mark Lindsay had taken his C&B opportunity. Captain/Coach Heath Brown had a great day making 23 runs and taking 4/24 with the ball. Well done boys on the first win for the season Division 1. Riddell 9/206 defeated Rupertswood 9/167 Though Rupo won the toss they surprisingly sent us in to bat. While we lost regular wickets the score was going along at 4 an over before Brett O’Mara (120) decided to move it along after the 30th over, adding around 60 runs in 7 overs with most of it off his own bat. We finished at 9/206 from the 40 overs and felt it could be defend if we bowled well. Fortunately we bowled very well, and restricted them to only 50 runs from the first 20 overs. A 60 run partnership for the 6th wicket helped them finish on 167 after the 40 overs. Division 4 Riddell 9/196 Lost to Diggers Rest Bulla 9/202 This was a very good challenge this week for our boys, we went down fighting by a few runs to a better side on the day. We started out batting with a competitive score on a fast oval with 196. Sam Preskar was a standout with 91. Then our turn to bowl and they had a few good partnerships throughout their innings which ultimately won them the game. Bad luck boys but we know where we went wrong and we will bounce back better next week. Current Ladder Positions 5th Johnstone Shield. 2nd Division 1 5th Division 4

05.01.2022 The pandemic has made us rethink sharing food. Cricket Victoria has confirmed the traditional afternoon tea in the club rooms, will be off the cards for the sum...mer ahead. 01.01.2022 SENIOR CRICKET MATCH SUMMARIES Johnstone Shield. Riddell 129 lost to Bacchus Marsh 138 We bowled/fielded really disciplined and bowled a strong Bacchus Marsh team out for 138 in the 39th over. Jackson Wadden (2/25) spear headed the attack followed by Evan Mouat (1/14) and Jarryd Stancombe (3/26) all bowling well. In reply we started slow with a couple cheap wickets before Dan Nolan (31) and with Sam Dempsey (really hard fought 49) steadied the ship. Sam battled for the r...est of the innings and with support from Jarryd Stancombe and Troy Mackey got us to a good position before some more quick wickets saw us needing 20 runs with 6 over to go. Unfortunately we fell 9 runs short in the 38th over. Whilst a loss there were some positives with the young boys digging in with the bat and bowling well. Division 1. Riddell 121 lost to Malmsbury 9/124 We took on the reining Div 1 premiers on a nice green turf wicket. The wickets fell regularly before Chris Mosele (42) and Max Smith (28) steadied things. When Moz fell just after drinks we were 5/81 and managed to be all out for 121 after 31 overs. We knew they had some good batsman so it was going to be a challenge to contain them. Dave King (3/23) got thing going in the 3rd over when he took 3 wickets in 4 balls. Leigh Bennett (2/28) and Quentin Stokes (3/22) bowled well and we had them 8/68 at the drinks break. Unfortunately the last two wickets proved elusive and they chased the runs down in the 32nd over. Division 4. Riddell 7/215 defeated Gisborne 9/134 Excellent start to the season with an all-round team effort. Proud of all the boys who played. Daniel Fisk with (102no), Steve Paterson (70), and Nirmal Singh (20) helped us get to a total of 215 on the board after the 35 over. Then it was the kids (and Bruce’s) turn with the ball. They did an awesome job and restricted Gisborne to 134 for the win. Well done boys
