23.01.2022 It is with great sadness to announce that our beautiful friend and vet Dr Jayne took her own life a week ago. Today we wanted to share our condolences for Jayne and honour her memory. Jayne was an incredibly kind, hardworking and compassionate vet and human. The vet industry was her love and passion in life, in which she was always studying and learning to advance her knowledge. It is unbelievably hard to put into words the amount of joy and love she brought to our small team..., her goofy puns and the ‘dad jokes’ will surely be missed. In her short time working at Ringwood East Vetcare she became a part of our family and we will sorely miss her beautiful smile. Out of respect to Jayne we won’t be sharing any further details surrounding the circumstances in which she has passed and we ask that everyone please be respectful of this. In turn, please be kind to one another and be there for each other because you never know what someone else may be going through. Rest easy Jayne, forever in our thoughts.

10.01.2022 Patient of the month We have picked a very special girl for our final patient of the month for this year! This is Gypsy. Gypsy is the proud new mum of SEVEN! That's right seven teeny tiny french bulldog pups!... Gypsy had to have a caesarean to deliver her pups given her breed. she recovered so well and was up and feeding not too long after surgery. It was all hands on deck during her surgery as we welcomed each puppy into the world, first a brindle bub then another fawn then another and another and another until there was seven tiny bundles of goodness! And we can happily report mum and all her puppies are doing very well. It's a short and sweet story for Gypsy. She is such a champion and has already proved to be an amazing mum!

08.01.2022 The Courageous and Bold Bailey Everyone meet Bailey, he has been a long term patient of ours since 2008 and we felt he deserved his time in the spotlight as our patient of the month! When he first started visiting us he was a tiny little 3.5kg white ball of fluff. Over the years since, he has grown in to a handsome, treat loving gentle pup.... Bailey loves going for walks and sitting enjoying the sun with his mum Maree. A few years ago Bailey was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease, this is a relatively common disease that middle aged and older dogs can develop. This means Bailey has to come and see us regularly for checks to track how he is going. Making Bailey one of our more frequent flyers! Luckily for Bailey his mum Maree has never wavered in her dedication to give this boy the best. #patientofthemonth #dogsofinstagram #puppiesofinstagram #malteseofinstagram #fluffball #cutiepie

03.01.2022 The Gloriously Gorgeous George George is a one of a kind black cat with a rainbow personality that debunks the black cat stigma of bad luck and evil omens! Glorious George and his owners prefer the ancient Egyptian ways, where cats are considered an embodiment of the gods and worshiped. So we thought this would make George the purrrrfect patient of the month! George was in at the clinic last week to see us for a routine dental procedure and some chest x-rays, we are happ...y to report that everything went well and all x-rays came back looking good and with nothing of concern. George is now rockin' a beautiful smile with his clean pearly whites. This cheeky boy may be 14 years old on paper but you wouldn't know it to meet him! #patientofthemonth #blackcat #rainbowpersonality #nowitcheshere #cheekymonkey See more

02.01.2022 The 4 stages of dental disease in cats and dogs! Vets use a grading system from 1-4 to assess your pet’s teeth and the severity of their dental disease, below we have a list of symptoms and also a chart, so why not try your hand at grading your pet’s teeth at home?! But don’t worry if you can’t, we are still doing our FREE dental health checks which you can call or DM us to book! The 4 stages of dental disease are as follows:... The first stage of dental disease is GINGIVITIS. This is when the teeth of your pet get covered in plaque and tartar which causes the immediate surrounding gums to become red, swollen and inflamed. This is a very treatable stage of the disease process and can be easily reverse or you can add in products + diet to help delay its progression to the next stage. The second stage of the dental disease process is known as EARLY PERIODONTITIS. This phase of dental disease is when the entire gums of the pet become red, swollen and inflamed. This is also when you might start to notice your pet’s breath becoming a bit smelly and can also be painful for your pet. To treat this stage, we would often recommend a dental procedure under a general anaesthetic. The third stage of dental disease is known as MODERATE PERIODONTITIS. This stage is when the gums are no longer just inflamed and swollen but you may also notice some bleeding. There is usually infection in the tooth or gums and this means the infected tooth or teeth need to be removed. Unfortunately, this is a stage of dental disease that does require veterinary intervention and cannot be managed with diet or additives alone. The fourth and most severe level of dental disease is ADVANCED/CHRONIC PERIODONTITIS. This is the most server level of dental disease as its often accompanied by a bacterial infection that effects not only the gum and teeth but can travel in to the bone and also via the bloodstream which if left untreated can cause issues with the kidneys, liver and even the heart. This stage of Dental disease is very preventable if teeth are maintained and kept in good health from early on in your pet’s life.

02.01.2022 Power outage! Due to the crazy weather we had last night, we unfortunately have no power. We are still running the clinic today as normal as we can, including consults. Please call us on our clinic mobile on 0434 819 696 if you need to contact us. Or message us on Facebook. Hopefully the power will be back up again soon.

01.01.2022 Our dental promotion is coming to an end. We have done so many dentals the last two months, that there are so many beautiful bright smiles walking around. To help keep their teeth clean there are a few options for pet owners to do: use a dental diet food such as Royal Canin dental or Hills t/d, clean your pet’s teeth with a pet friendly tooth brush and give dental treats (such as greenies or dentastix), just to name a few. To celebrate the end of our dental promotion and all the beautiful bright smiles now getting around, share this post and post a picture of your pet’s dental care routine. We will pick a lucky winner for a prize. The lucky winner will be announced after midday on Friday the 2nd of October.

01.01.2022 What a day! Thank you everyone who was patient and understanding today. We were able to get one computer system running so that we could look at our schedule. We are still doing normal consults, however due to having no power we can't do grooming. This also means our phone lines are still down. So please contact us on our clinic mobile on 0434 819 696. The latest update we got was that we may not have power until Sunday. ... Thanks to Dr Quyen is on the ball and is taking home everything we need kept refrigerated and all the main battery operated things we need to be charged up.

01.01.2022 Patient of the month Carlos, The captivating canine. Swipe to see all before and afters! ... Carlos is a 7 month old French bulldog who was in with us a few weeks ago for cherry eye correction surgery and Alaraplasty (nasal widening surgery). Cherry eye is a common condition that dogs can suffer from, cherry eye is caused when the tear gland that sits in the third eye lid prolapses (pops out) and ends up resembling that of a cherry . Which is what Carlos had and unfortunately he developed it in both eyes, one more severe then the other. Carlos was an absolute champion for his surgery and was very excited when his family arrived to take him home He has since been enjoying life without any obstructed views and living his puppy hood to the fullest! #frenchiesofinstagram #puppiesofinstagram #livingmybestlife #cuteascanbe
