13.01.2022 I was proud that this project was a finalist in the 2019 AGDA student awards, an honour I didn’t learn of until 2 months after the fact, due to the email informing me being lost in my inbox whilst I cavorted round Europe for a month. Truth be told, it was a bit of a half-assed lazy GIF I did as part of the collateral for a hypothetical theatre company, but I still like it. 09.01.2022 The isolation of living in #lockdown, particularly over Easter, sees many people feeling overwhelmed with feelings of frustration confusion and fear. The ancient Zen practice of ‘Enso’ art is all about appreciating a moment in time for what it is; without trying to change, avoid or rationalise anything about it. Observing the now with calm acceptance allows for the recognition of perfection in imperfection. This illustration hails back to my first year at TAFE, and I still k...eep the poster on my wall and the lesson in my heart. It’s a lesson that has served me well; and does so again now, helping me to adjust to an uncertain new world with little fear or resistance. I encourage anyone struggling to cope in lockdown right now to practice self-compassion, and acknowledge any negative or fearful feelings you might have. Give yourself full permission to feel them for a while, before putting them aside with the knowledge that in this moment, you are ok. Then keep your eyes open and try to find some kind of perfection within this imperfect situation, -anything... And if you can’t; if you’re unable to put aside those feelings just yet, that’s ok too.
