25.01.2022 Earlier today members from Ripley Valley RFB joined other volunteers in a West Moreton Taskforce heading for the Greenhills Side of the Kooralbyn Fire. This fire has been going for several days with very dry conditions prevailing.

19.01.2022 Queensland’s aerial firefighting capability has soared to new heights with the addition of a Large Air Tanker (LAT) to the QFES fleet. The LAT is based at Bunda...berg Airport and can operate at many regional airports throughout the State. It can travel about 670km/hr and land with 80% of its load on board. The LAT weighs in at around 31,000kg and it has a retardant capacity of 10,000L! Check out this video to see the LAT in action at the official launch today.

10.01.2022 Come on down and meet the team this Saturday the 8th May at Ripley Town Centre near Coles where we have planned a Community Engagement Day. We’ll have a variety of vehicles and equipment on display and we’ll be there to answer any questions residents have on bushfire safety. In particular, we’d love to hear from residents: - interested in being safer during the coming bushfire season... - interested in having the brigade assist with hazard reduction burns We’ll have crews on scene from 9am to 4pm so drop in and say hello.

09.01.2022 Firefighters Remembrance Day QFES flags will be flown at half-mast across Queensland today as we remember the firefighters who have died while protecting and s...erving their communities. Today, we stop on the 10th hour on the 10th day of the 10th month to honour and pay tribute to our fallen firefighters, as well as their families, friends and colleagues. We are forever grateful for the sacrifice they made to protect others.

09.01.2022 Swanbank rd Swanbank (permitted burn) The Brigade is attending a hazard reduction burn at Swanbank this evening. Smoke may affect residents and motorists in the area. Residents should close their doors and windows and keep medication close by if suffering from a respiratory condition. Motorists should use caution and drive to conditions. If you believe your property is under threat, you should call Triple Zero (000) immediately.

08.01.2022 Some of our members caught up for a team photo recently. Ripley Valley Rural Fire Brigade - volunteers proudly serving the communities between Springfield and Amberley and Beyond.

08.01.2022 Members from the Brigade are out in the Springfield area again today along with other volunteers from Rural Brigades across the region helping residents impacted by the storms on the weekend. Power is starting to be restored in the area but damage from the large hail is severe in many areas.

07.01.2022 The Brigade would like to pass on its gratitude to the Rural Fire Brigade Association of Queensland Inc (RFBAQ) as well as the Rural Fire Service of Queensland for the donation of a new FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) thermal imaging camera. This specialised piece of equipment will enable the Brigade to look for hotspots after fire has gone through so that we can more effectively make an area safe for the community.

06.01.2022 Due to wet weather these roads around Ipswich have been closed: Jones Road and Brennan Street intersection, Bellbird Park Albert Street, Goodna floodway S...mith's Road, Goodna floodway Grandchester Mount Mort Road out past Spicers Hidden Vale Mt Walker West Road at the Bremer River bridge crossing Council is monitoring water levels in these areas: Ipswich Boonah Rd (211) at the Fords Lane intersection and Hughes Road intersection at Purga. Rosewood Warrill View Road at the waste water treatment plant adjacent to School Street, Rosewood. Haigslea Amberley Road adjacent to Bell St intersection at Walloon on the concrete floodway. As the water subsides these roads will reopen.

03.01.2022 Members of the Brigade will be joining other volunteers from Ipswich Group to continue in assisting Ipswich City Councils Disaster Management Unit going house to house, checking on the welfare of residents and the damage to their homes, following the highly destructive storms that impacted SEQ yesterday afternoon. Wishing all those effected members of our community a speedy recovery.

02.01.2022 Some extra information for the communities impacted by Saturday’s storms. Meanwhile Brigade Members along with RFS Volunteers from across the region are continuing to support Ipswich City Council and the SES in ground operations.

01.01.2022 What a difference a year can make. This day last year was our busiest for bushfire activity and included 111 bushfire community warnings across the state in 24... hours. Fast forward to 2020 and QFES personnel are still busy, but this time assisting with storm clean-up. Whether it’s bushfires, storms or cyclones, we’re here for you Queensland.
