17.01.2022 Hey friends I’ve put together this little 10 minute video to follow on from my full 60 minute class at the weekend (@havenyogabarre ) to give you some tips and drills to prepare for this fun but challenging pose. If you didn’t join my full class and want to know what to focus on first in your home practice before attempting this pose I would suggest:... shoulder and arm strengthening poses- chaturanga practice with elbows wrapping in shoulder mobility - access more range of motion in the shoulders - we did some humble warriors and some binds with straps in class adductor engaging work - we will be squeezing the thighs on to the arm bones so good to get these muscles working - plus they link to your core muscles including pelvic floor which will be engaging in this pose hamstring release and lengthening poses hip opening poses core work (we did some supine variations of the pose to warm the core and be able to feel engagement at a more intrinsic level) side body lengthening - most Sun A and Sun B sequences will incorporate this Keep in mind that our anatomy ie our skeletal structure plays a big role in how accessible some poses are so don’t give yourself a hard time if this pose is proving tricky . Plus how often in life do you actually spend trying to wrap your leg over your shoulder ?! Be kind to yourself and remember to have fun See you on the mat again soon
