05.01.2022 With winter sport in full swing, it's going to be an challenging weekend in much of south-east Australia...with COVID-19 restrictions being ramped up in Victoria and a weather system that's going cause havoc along the coastal fringe. A significant low pressure system is developing west of New Zealand and a high pressure system is developing south of the Australian mainland. These systems will result in some powerful winds along the south east coast and should move north up t...he eastern seaboard. Already, the BOM has issued some Wind Warnings. If the wind intensifies as some of the modelling suggests, there is likely to be waves in excess of 5 metres through to Sunday. If you're heading out, take heed of the advice from the BOM and marine rescue agencies such as Surf Lifesaving.
