25.01.2022 It is with much pleasure that we advise that the West Tamar Council have allowed us to ease some restrictions. The Clubhouse is now available to be used ONLY for toilets in an emergency and turning on/off court lights when needed. Do NOT use Showers.... There is to be NO Social gatherings inside the Clubhouse. NO coffee/tea facilities at this stage. Kitchen not to be used. Tennis is still a get in/play/get out situation, Come to the courts, Play and go. Members only, no visitors at this stage. As of Monday 22nd June 2020, the following will apply: Social tennis on Monday morning, Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning, Thursday night, Friday morning, Saturday morning and Sunday morning will resume and be given priority on the courts above individual groups, as it did prior to covid-19. We are allowed 20 people on site, so if there are more than 20 you must wait outside, in your vehicle preferably. You will need to provide your own tennis balls for these social time slot sessions at this stage. They can be purchased from a committee member with a key to the storage room or call 0488444482. Booking of courts is no longer required. Our booking sheets have been amended to become a sign in register only and the club social timeslots will be indicated on them to allow social tennis to occur. YOU MUST STILL SIGN IN ON THE REGISTER SHEET EVERY TIME YOU PLAY (for contact tracing purposes if an outbreak occurs).

25.01.2022 In Wednesday night Division A (singles+doubles) our Riverside Wiseguise have missed out on a top three finals spot but our Riverside Ramjets - Oliver, Tim, Josh and Captain Ryan have finished second and will host third placed LRTC next Wednesday night at Riverside at 630pm for a spot in the final against Trevallyn. Well done

25.01.2022 Evening Interclub pennant Division C doubles The Holloway family team had a straight sets win tonight in their semi final against AIC. Grand final next Wednesday 2nd December at 630pm at Newstead (hart street). Riverside supporters welcome to attend and cheer them (and the A grade Ramjets too).... Free barbie. 23.01.2022 The courts are now able to be used by members only from today onwards with many conditions and restrictions in place. Please check your email inbox for all the information. Courts need to be booked on a form located on the court gates at the club. CLUBHOUSE IS CLOSED. DO NOT ENTER. We need a signed document from each player before they use the court for the first time and every player must record their name every time they play for contract tracing purposes. If you haven’t r...eceived the email, contact 0488444482 and we’ll forward it to you. There are also copies of all documents displayed at the club and some spare forms to sign, in the water proof boxes along with the court booking sheets and sign in sheets, hanging on the court gates. 22.01.2022 We have a winner Last nights C grade doubles grand final (evening inter club pennant) was won 6/1 6/0 by our Riverside Purple Holloway family team - Bianca & Danica (&dad Phil), against the 1st placed Newstead Gold team. Thanks to the many Newstead supporters/players who came to watch and create a great atmosphere.

20.01.2022 KIDS TEAM TENNIS Here is a fun program for kids 8-12 years old to play some competitive TEAM tennis in an environment where participation and team involvement is the focus. Orange ball league (50% compression ball) allows players to serve underarm with a drop serve on reduced size court while the Green ball league uses the 75% compression ball on a full size court with a regular serve. Registrations are open for Riverside teams to compete in this Team Tennis Match Play... Program for term 3. The Launceston Regional Tennis Centre and Newstead Tennis and Squash Centre(Hart Street) will be hosting the annual Tennis North Versus Tennis North West Challenge Gala day. Starting at 10am and being contested across 5 categories, the day will provide some very high quality singles and doubles tennis. The day finishes with a barbie at Hart Street while the final exhibition match is in progress - a father son d...uel between David and Matthew Carswell (north) and Clayton and Paul Graham-Jones (north west). No cost to come and watch of course. Please come and support our Riverside players who are representing Tennis North.

12.01.2022 Results from last night’s B grade doubles grand final of spring evening inter club pennant roster. Jeff and Tim went down in a very close windy contest 4-6, 5-6. Well done to Al and Jason from Newstead. It’s no fun to lose but to these two nice blokes, it’s not so bad.

07.01.2022 12 Riverside members representing Tennis North tomorrow against the North West. Held at LRTC (next to Kmart) and the Newstead Tennis and Squash Centre (Hart Street), play starts at 10am across 5 divisions including over 50’s and juniors, as well as some really elite players at the top end of the A grade field. It will be great to watch.

07.01.2022 We won the big one Division A grand final on Wednesday night at Newstead versus Trevallyn. Tight, tight encounter. Well done Riverside Ramjets; Oliver, Tim and Ryan. Thank you to the Trevallyn boys, to Craig on the barbie again, and NTSC for their venue and hospitality. Successful spring roster for Riverside; across 5 divisions we had 6 of 8 teams play finals, 5 teams play grand finals, and collected 3 of the available 5 pennant shields. And had a lot of enjoyable evenings, win or lose. Well done.

04.01.2022 Two Riverside semi final winning Division A doubles interclub evening pennant teams last night. Well done Dennis&Manning and Andrew&Arwen. All Riverside grand final next week. Day and place yet to be announced. Well done also to Arwen for being named best player for the Tennis North Representative team in the junior division on Saturday.

04.01.2022 That was a great day. Magnificent sunny weather all day for our second annual Jim Witheford Memorial Challenge, remembering our late president of 27 years. Congratulations Belinda and Fletcher Young for their 6-4 win in the final against Cathy Harvey and Ryan Walker. Thank you to all 15 pairs who came and had a good day and to those who spectated as well. Same time next year. P.S anybody lose this hat?

03.01.2022 * Attention potential first time inter club pennant players * All things going well with covid 19, the new rosters of all grades of evening interclub pennant will begin on the week of August 3rd. They will run through until early December. Cost is only $3 per week. Play starts 630pm for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. We currently have an existing C grade team (who play doubles only, no singles) seeking a new player or maybe 2 players if you prefer to join the team with a friend. This is f...riendly competition and a great place to start playing competitively or get back into it. 02.01.2022 Dear members. This year’s Jim Witheford Memorial mixed doubles round robin is being played at riverside tennis club tomorrow - Sunday 27th September from 930am onwards. All four courts will be in use. A free court for social play will not be available until approximately 330pm at best. Thank you for your understanding. Spectators are welcome to the event as long as they sign in at the clubhouse. Social distancing and other hygiene precautions MUST be observed by spectators please.

01.01.2022 Great grand final last night at Newstead in Division A doubles where Riverside Pink’s Ged Parsons and Dennis Harding had a hard fought win over Riverside Red’s Andrew Roberts and Arwen Koesmapahlawan, 4-6 6-5 6-3. Well done to both teams for making it an all Riverside grand final and playing some high quality tennis. Well done also to the Pink team’s trusty fill in Manning Mitchell, and to the Red team’s regular third player Owen Geale. Thanks to Craig Boyce and Darren Braithwaite for their work on the barbie.

Riverside blue - Norbert, Briony and Phil have missed out on finals, but family team Riverside Purple - Phil, Bianca and Danica have finished second and will host AIC at riverside this Wednesday night 25th Nov. at 630pm, at the same time as our Div A host Trevallyn. The lovely Ged and Dennis representing Riverside Pink, with some help from Manning, have finished on top and will host fourth placed LRTC in a semi next Monday night at riverside at 630pm, while second placed Riverside Red consisting of Andrew, Arwen and Owen will host the strong Trevallyn team, in the same time and place as mentioned above.
