24.01.2022 YES, WE'RE BUILDING A PACKING SHED! The mystery is over...the pile of steel that has been sitting on the corner of our block for the last month is for our new packing shed. It's amazing to see what the boys have managed to do in just a few hours in searing heat. I will keep you posted as the shed takes shape. Keep your fingers and toes crossed that we will have it ready for harvest!

23.01.2022 PACKING SHED NEARS COMPLETION The roof is on, the floor has been poured, the doors are on and now Paul is working on the attached shed which will eventually house the office/kitchen/toilets. All we need now is our pomegranates! Harvest is only a few weeks away so it's a relief to have the shed up. We might have to make do with packing on trestle tables for our first year but we all have to start somewhere and boy, we have come a long way since last season!

20.01.2022 NEW RECIPE PAGE ON WEBSITE I can't wait for the next harvest In March so I can start trying some new pomegranate dishes. To help make it easier to find recipes on our website, the very creative Annette Winter from Thats Graphic, has updated our website so recipes and latest news now have separate pages! Each recipe now has it's own link and within each recipe there is an index of all recipes on our site. So far we only have a few recipes so I would love you to submit your pomegranate recipes here on Facebook or via our website. Last season, Joy White from Homestead Lovers dehydrated and powdered some of our arils. Thanks Joy for the inspiration for this Chocolate Bark recipe. Click on this link to the bark and our other recipes https://www.rivpom.com.au/pomegranate-recipes

19.01.2022 SHED TAKING SHAPE A huge thank you to our wonderful friends for chipping in to help us with the packing shed. Thanks Darren Oxlade, Peter Kollmann, Neil Crouch and Peter Cahill. It hasn't been easy in this hot weather. Under the supervision of the master shed builder himself, Les Lange, and his son, the boys managed to get the frame up in just a few days. It was a family affair today as 3 generations of Wilsons managed to get the second side of the shed erected without killing each other!

16.01.2022 SOLD OUT! Sorry, unexpectedly had someone buy all of our thirds. I will advise when more are available. POMEGRANATES - Third Grade - only $3 per bag from Riverland Pomegranates! Our very hot Summer and Autumn has resulted in some of our pomegranates getting burnt. The fruit is fine inside except the arils under the burnt section are usually pale and a bit sour. As the burnt and cracked fruit does not meet our standards as premium fruit, we are offering it for sale for only $...3 for as many fruit you can fit in one of our string bags! If you would like some fruit, please call me (Jane) on 0429 841 507 to arrange a time to pick up the pomegranates from our packing shed at Loxton North. You are welcome to buy larger quantities at a negotiated price however, we do request that you do not on-sell our fruit as we only want our best fruit on the market. We DO NOT HAVE EFTPOS facilities so please bring CASH ONLY. Please bring your own cartons or bags for large quantities. See more

14.01.2022 The bees from AmberHill Honey are loving it in our pomegranates!

14.01.2022 Doing a little local experiment with the team at Riverland Pomegranates to see what (if any) nectar is yielded from this amazing crop. There is very little else... flowering in this area at the moment so it will be great to see how the little ladies go foraging nectar and pollen. Another bonus of this little experiment will be seeing if there is an increase in fruit yield and whether it’s beneficial to have hives in for pommy flowering . Fingers crossed for some pomegranate honey See more

14.01.2022 EVER WONDERED WHAT POMEGRANATE FLOWERS LOOK LIKE? Watching our fruit evolve from these stunning flowers really is quite amazing!

10.01.2022 WHY HAVE WE CHANGED OUR NAME? In case you are wondering why we are now known as RivPom... Although we have always had two registered business names, we have decided to officially be known as 'RivPom' instead of 'Riverland Pomegranates'.... Inferior quality fruit has been advertised as 'Riverland Pomegranates' because they are, in fact, pomegranates grown in the Riverland. We needed to ensure consumers could distinguish between our premium fruit and other pomegranates grown in our region. With the distinctive crown and the ruby like arils (seeds), we have added a tag line to our logo, 'Growing the Jewels of the Riverland'. Don't be fooled by imposters! If you don't see our original logo on the stickers of individual fruit or our new logo on the label of our pre-packs of 3 pomegranates, they are not from RivPom.

08.01.2022 Business SA recently held a Regional Voice workshop in Loxton. Prior to the session, they asked if I could share a little bit about our business. I don't think this video will become a viral sensation however, it does give an insight to who we are and where we are going!
