24.01.2022 RIXKIXMAX DANCE PARTY!!! Come join the Dance Xmas event of year! Sunday December 13th, on the top floor of Smith Street Social! Hosted by the lovely Amy Hetherington starring as Mrs Claus Master of Ceremonies. Our family friendly event is from 5-6pm where our kids will entertain you with fun group dances and Fairy Jill will be there to face paint joy on all the merry faces. From 6pm our adults party kix off! The Rix Kix Arts dancers including teachers Synta Routh, Chloe Sa...ndford, Jackie Rose, Emily Sara, Erica Watling, Ruttiya McElroy, Aimee Chong & Shauna Ricardo will be joined by the sassy burlesque acts of Divine Dancers Darwin, the feather delights of Espirito do Samba, the hip hop swagger from Flow Theory along with a bachata duet by Zey y Elif from DKF Darwin. 23.01.2022 RKA’s dancing doors will be closed during the 48-hour lockdown. This means no K-Pop, Cabaret, Girly Grooves or Performance Class tomorrow Monday June 28. All of other Adult classes have completed for Term 2 (apart from Monday Adult classes which runs until Monday July 5th) Will keep you updated. 20.01.2022 XMAS FLASHMOB INVITE!!! Exciting News For ALL Darwinites... We have an all inclusive Christmas Flash Mob happening on Sunday November 29th at midday & you are invited to be involved! There is no cost to perform & you can bring friends/family along to join the fun! There will be one rehearsal at Rix Kix Arts Studio this Sunday before we head off to a secret location and perform! ... The choreography is really simple and repetitive, absolutely anyone can do it! Just wear something Christmas themed and join the fun- Go all out if you fancy! We will have spare Santa hats also! 20.01.2022 2020 brought our Sold Out Rix Kix Max Extravaganza! Am just processing all the magic now. This year we took on brave new adventures as a dance family and we haven’t looked back. Grateful for what teachers Jackie, Erica, Ruttiya, Synta, Shauna, Aimee and Chloe have created during class and on the stage. Am still waiting on the professional footage so thanks to Kelly Hayes for these audience snaps. To each dancer who was brave enough to not only attend class in the first plac...e but who worked hard each week with the goal to strut their stuff to a life audience, your self love and growth amazes me and we thank you. Huge shout out to the community groups that utilise RKA’s Studio and showcased their art with us. We thank Darwin Divine Dancers, Espirito Do Samba and DKF events. Love how we collaborate harmoniously within the shared space. We would also like to thank MC Amy Hetherington, DJ BENNYGOLD & guest choreographers Gary Lang and Millie Hunt. Thanks to Shady Ink make-up for making us look and feel amazing! Huge appreciation for Bethan McElwee from Baby Ballet, Hannah McVinsh, Lily Tiffen and Tahlia Verry for assisting me throughout the year, couldn’t have done it without your endless energy and selfless care. We had a team of suppliers help create an interactive event thanking the staff from Smith street Social, Social Playground PhotoBooths, Enchanted Entertainment, Minh Tang Videography, Dance World & Balloon Events and More. If you've ever wanted to build your confidence through Dance & make new friends then Girly Grooves is for you! It's never too late to start! This Adult class will work on your fitness & rhythm. Each term we build onto a fun, sassy & empowering dance!... GIRLY GROOVES COURSE 10-Week Program runs from Monday Feb 1st - Monday April 5th. The term is $150 + annual $10 Registration Fee.
