12.01.2022 For too long now Ive needed a goal, a challenge, something outside of work and family that will push me out of my comfort zone. Late last year I made the decision to do the Kokoda Track. My wife completed it last year with some work colleagues and being a former soldier and a bit of a history nerd, I knew I had to get it done. All the usual excuses immediately surfaced; Im not fit enough, Im too overweight, I dont have time to train etc, etc. So I just decided to sign up ...with @adventureprofessionals and stop with the excuses. Ive got just over 9 weeks until I leave and training is in full swing. Yesterday was 11.5km around Mt Nebo and my first time with a weighted pack since my army days. Needless to say I was pretty stuffed by the end of the session, but Im making good progress. Im loving the bush hikes and Ive dropped 7kg.
