13.01.2022 Here Be Dragons is the RMIT Global Studies student-run magazine, featuring works from current and past students of the Bachelor of International Studies (BIS), BIS (Honours) and the Master of International Development. You can check out their past volumes here: http://globalstudies.squarespace.com/#/herebedragons/ Volume 8: Far will be published in Semester 2, 2020 but we need your help! The Here Be Dragons editorial team is now accepting submissions and would love for y...ou to be involved. Submissions are open from now until Wednesday 1st of August. You can submit anything from book reviews, interviews, reflective pieces, short essay-style pieces, and more. You can also submit visual work if that’s more your thing! Here Be Dragons welcomes drawings, paintings, digital artwork and your beautiful photos. Submission Guidelines: Please note that it will not be possible to publish all submissions. The editorial committee will make selections according to the following general guidelines: - Must be written in the first person (although we would consider co-authored reflective pieces in the first person plural) - Be of thematic relevance to International Studies, Globalisation, International Development, Security, Language etc. - Maximum word limit of 800 words. Pieces of fewer than 500 words are perfectly permissible. - Is written within the style (including referencing) established in the first edition of Here Be Dragons - Accompanying image(s) that you own or have express permission to use are encouraged upon submission. - Will consider publishing in non-English languages, with an accompanying English translation. Please note that all authors should be students or alumni of the BIS, BIS (Honours), Master of International Development, or PhD program. 05.01.2022 It’s almost that time of year for the election of a brand-new Executive for the ISA! If you want to attend the International Studies Association AGM (Annual General Meeting) and nominate yourself for an executive role, or if you just want to be able to vote for your friend or fellow IS students in the elections, you need to be registered as an official member first. So, if you aren’t a full member of the ISA (Either if you never signed a bit of paper with your name at orienta...tion or you didn’t re-sign up online from last year), make sure you follow this link to sign yourself up: https://rusu.rmit.edu.au/Clubs/ISA Sign-ups will officially close on Monday 12pm (Mid-day), so get in quick!
