16.01.2022 Nicola Andrews Adventure Fund (NAAF) heads to Mongolia. In 2016 the RMIT Outdoors Club launched NAAF as a memorial to Nicola Andrews who tragically lost her life on a club trip in late 2015. Nicola was an active member of the club and committee and also in Melbourne's outdoor community. The adventure fund aims to help successful applicants to achieve their dream adventure. In 2019, Estelle Fleming was awarded funds to help her complete a solo horse trekking expedition in Mo...ngolia. 11.01.2022 The RMIT Esports & Games Redbacks team have taken out the inaugural UniSport Australia Esports Championships (UAEC)! Our teams competed across 3 sports: Rocket League, FIFA and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Congratulations to Griffith University and Monash University for rounding out the top 3.... We heard from Matthew Sesto600 Sesto, a member from the RMIT Elite Athlete Program who competed in the championships. "My experience with UAEC was one that I plan to use in the future, as it was my first FIFA tournament. A massive thanks to the club and my teammates for their support. 10.01.2022 Ideally an international snowboarder needs snow to train and compete on and that’s what RMIT Elite Athlete Program student Christian de Oliveira is chasing as he returns to Europe for their winter. At the 2019 UniSport Nationals Snow event Christian won the Snowboard Champion Individual (men) award and was a key member of the RMIT team in winning the Snowboard Champion University (men) award. Lucy is currently in a hub in Sydney competing for the Melbourne Stars in the Rebel WBBL|06 competition. The 23 regular season matches, plus three finals run from 25 Oct until 29 Nov 2020. 02.01.2022 A report released in 2015, Out on the Fields, the first international and largest study of homophobia in sport found that of the Australian participants (over 3000), 70% believed that youth team sporting environments were not safe or supportive of DGSS people. Although this is changing, we are still seeing young people drop out of sports at a time when they should feel most supported by the community.
