22.01.2022 http://hbr.org/2013/01/the-price-of-incivility/ar/1 Harvard Business Review has an article on the 'Price of Incivility'. It seems that "rudeness at work is rampant". Is this your experience at work or in business? How does your organisation manage civility? In most cases, in most organisations, we can do better, much better, in the way we interact with one another at work and in business. Balancing work and home life can seem so busy, and even frantic at times. We wonder how ...on earth we'll get things done, fit things in, meet that deadline. These things can make people cranky and irritable, short or terse with their colleagues, clients, friends and family and so on. Is this how we want things to be? I wouldn't have thought so! What do you think? Would you be happier and more productive if your work environment was just that little bit calmer, just that little bit more civil? We CAN transform our places of work and business. And we can start by being more civil in the way we approach our colleagues and the people with whom we do business. A good place to focus on initially is with how you give feedback and how you receive it. Are you being positive, supportive and helpful? Or when you give feedback are you being narky and critical? Training, coaching and mentoring are good ways for people and organisations to make sure they know the difference between criticism and feedback. RNew can help with this. Talk to us.
