20.01.2022 The SA Government has advised a number of restrictions on businesses will be reinstated as of midnight Monday 16 November in response to the Parafield cluster. At this point in time, the South Australian business community should remain confident about the future. The State Government and its expert health officials will continue to make informed decisions about how to best manage the current outbreak.... Business SA urges all businesses to be highly vigilant and play their part to keep South Australia safe. This is a pivotal time in our State’s COVID-19 response, and it is crucial that businesses do everything they can to keep themselves, their employees and customers safe. The new restrictions are expected to be in place for the next two weeks. For the latest updates, go to the COVID-19 website here Business closures The following businesses have been ordered to close as of midnight Monday 16 November: - All gyms, indoor recreation centres and play centres. - All community sports fixtures and trainings cancelled (including outdoor sports). - All upcoming events in the next two weeks with a COVID Management Plan are cancelled (gatherings of more than 1,000 people). All venues must apply the 1 person per 4 square metre rule with no vertical alcohol consumption (even in outdoor areas) - Private functions at venues capped at 50 people. - Weddings capped at 150 people. - Funerals capped at 50 people. - Church services capped at 100 people. - Pubs, clubs, cafes and restaurants will be capped at 100 people. - Private gatherings at home restricted to 10 people. What can stay open - Schools remain open. - Health and beauty salons can stay open, but masks are mandatory for workers. - Public transport remains open, but masks are strongly encouraged. - Outdoor fitness classes allowed. Offices impact While not mandatory, the Government has urged people to work from home where possible. SA Border closures By midnight Monday 16 November, South Australians entering most States and Territories will have to enter mandatory quarantine. - Tasmania, WA, Queensland, the Northern Territory have closed their borders to SA. - Victoria has declared SA a hot spot with travellers to undergo testing. - New South Wales and the ACT are yet to impose any new restrictions on South Australians. https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/

14.01.2022 Easing of COVID restrictions to allow vertical consumption of alcohol outdoors as well as drinking and dancing at private functions in licensed venues. From midnight tomorrow night, licensed venues such as pubs, bars, wineries and cellar doors will be able to have patrons drink while standing up in outdoor areas only. Transitioning from seated to standing consumption is something that has been advocated for strongly by the hospitality and hotels sector, and while limited ...to outdoors, it is another fantastic step forward in the recovery of our visitor economy. I know it will mean a lot to many operators across our state, and also to event organisers who are reimagining how to deliver their events and festivals. Also effective from midnight tomorrow, people attending private functions such as weddings will be able to dance, as well as drink while standing, with the function capped at 150 guests. Private functions mean there is a defined guest list, which assists with contact tracing should it be needed. In making today’s announcement, the Premier Steven Marshall said these decisions are commensurate with the changing risks. https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/recovery
